The brute shot is pretty much as deadly up close as the mauler. If you drop a bubble, you can just sit there with brute shot, and one shot in the chest + a melee = a kill. Yum.

True, but the brute shot + beatdown is real tricky if you're low shields, due to the shot - can't tell you how many times i've gotten killed just because the explosion was a bit too much and the melee was then mutual.

Someone threw a grenade at the barrier in the middle near the shotgun/sniper with me on the inside. And somehow it blew up the wall things, killing me. The grenade was totally thrown by the other team and the grenade stayed on the outside yet the explosion still came through...

Was this changed in an update or something?

Shit tends to leak or get by shield doors quite often in my experience. Just one of the reasons I don't like them. I don't know if this is due to them being placed just a little fraction of a centimeter off so it doesn't block grenade explosions or whatever, or something else. Most infamously the shield door on Epitaph down by the Shotgun. Look it up on Youtube.

I've never noticed any difference in camping or map movement between radar and no radar. But I can see why no radar would encourage map movement more so than radar.

Yeah, I love using the Brute Shot to go 'Hog Tipping...

Love it in upclose battles too for a swift kill, except that you almost always get hurt in the process too...

Agreed. Luke needs to stop wasting his time on those pathetic little "updates", grab a keyboard, and start rewriting the netcode.

We're actually not allowed to make fun of the weekly updates here. Upsets a lot of people here. Apparently cryptic one liners which no one here knows what they mean make for an AMAZING update.

Yeah, laggy Big Team is getting to be a serious problem. It's gotten noticably worse and worse as time has progressed the last month or two. Our last couple sessions we all kinda ended early because it just got too bad.

Helllo Halo Thread! Been a bit...


So, been playing more recently, have 2 videos for you.

First:

Killed a guy with a splatter medal...from 100 yards away....from safely inside a bubble sheild. Oh, and I wasn't in a vehicle. Linkage.


Second:

I usually am not that big of a fan of VIP. This game, I found me a laser and started off the game well, and cleaned up gud too. LinkRage!


Also currently uploading a third vid that will show Juice and company how awesome

Maybe we'll finally get something on Halo: Chronicles at X08... it was announced 2 years ago at X06, with nothing since then.

That'd be nice, but no one's even sure if X08 will happen this year. X08 is usually at the end of September, but the conference itself is announced two or so months before and, well, we're fast approaching September. :P

We'll see, though.

In other news, I was the victim to some disgusting spawns on Standoff, and was so pissed I took screens of them to illustrate my complaints. I'd post them, but I'm tired. Tomorrow.

It's been terrible for me too. I switch to team/social slayer when BTB gets too laggy. That usually does the trick.

Snipes game? The spawns on Standoff are way too easily understood and the weighting is way too high on outside spawns IMO. Bungie needs to go into Forge delete about 50% of the outside spawns add about 15% spawns inside the base and the outside spawns move them behind crates, rocks, or an outside power drain, and finally add more stickies outside.
 
Juice, Dax and Numbers, we had a solid party going last night. Sorry about my friend, though. While he didn't exactly suck, he didn't put up the best numbers either. He used to be dirty at Halo 2 and then moved to Spain and has only played H3 a little bit. I'll definitely be on again tonight (for longer this time as I'm done with work for the summer) so we should get some more games on.
