Well, joy.

I spent a few more hour troubleshooting my router, then gave in and bought a new one. Installed it.

PC is online just fine.

Xbox still won't go online (but will when my PC is turned off and I reboot everything).

No Live for me for the foreseeable future. Live is still failing the IP test when set to automatic, then passing it and failing the DNS test when I set the numbers manually.

$40 and six hours of troubleshooting down the tubes so far.

Bungie is punishing you. Change your avatar back to the Scoffish.

I think it’s more of a "putting the finishing touches" type deal rather than a nod to Marathon.

We've had much, much leaner updates than that. And they always come right before announcements of new content.

as do i. i feel like luke hasnt really come into his own yet, but i'm giving him time. when frankie took over for matt, i thought the updates went to the shitter (sorry frank). i'm not sure if he got better or i just adjusted, but i definitely felt like frank more then meet my expectations eventually and i was very happy with the direction the updates took. i'm sure luke will eventually find his voice and do them as much justice as those that came before.

I'm definitely very disappointed that we're getting these teases, but we don't get to hear anything about the stuff being teased in these updates, so that they can be revealed exclusively to the privleged PAX-goers.

I'll be enormously unhappy if this is one of those things where it's revealed to PAXers, who give us the second-hand scoop, we watch some shaky cam footage, and get more infos much later.

Ideally, those of us not at PAX will get write-ups, pictures, and videos (if appropriate) of the new stuff as soon as the stuff is revealed, giving us the second-best experience to actually being there. It would definitely end up being a let-down if we get left in the dark.
