You hate me for no reason and I no longer want to read your posts so you are ignored. If you ever change lemme know.
Shucks, if only I knew better.

The fact is we all have grand ideas for changes in matchmaking. Many of them conflict with each other, and pretty much all of us here are a lot more alike then it seems. We're all relatively hardcore when it comes to playing Halo. So while most of us may agree on certain things, VIP, Covies (with the exception of Ghaleon), Territories, etc. we represent a very specific and for the most part minuscule population of the community.

The vast majority of Halo players love chargin in ARs blazing chucking grenades the moment they pick em up. Some see VIP on Isolation and couldn't care less, they just enjoy the variety. I'll agree that these guys don't appreciate the things us hardcore players find vital but who's to say Bungie should cater to us when they are actually the majority here.

Bungie tries to give a little something to everyone. For the boring and unfun, we have MLG. For those that get a thrill out of competition they've given us relatively vanilla ranked playlists. And for those that are just looking for a good time we have the wackiness that is social playlists.

So while I hate a few of the gametypes out there I can recognize that I'm not the only person (or type of person) that plays this game. No that doesn't mean I have to enjoy them, but it'd be ridiculous for me to expect every damn aspect of Halo MM to appeal to me.

There's no problem doing some complaining here and there. And I definitely have no beef with those offering suggestions to Bungie (as I'm sure they don't mind either). It's the constant bitching and backseat developing that I have no respect for. Truth-be-told, I (and many other hardcore players) probably would like your "playlist changes that everyone else likes and I'm such a popular smart guy" but would the whole of the community? My guess is no. Our perspective is severely and to assume you know how to make MM better for everyone is absolutely arrogant.

So Juices, if you do happen to read this, don't take me off your ignore list, cause I still don't like you. Feel free to remain comfortably up your own asshole. Happy gaming.

I like Covies!

Nobody sees anything on Isolation and couldn't care less. Nobody. Period. Absolutely. Listen to my community of 1. Oh god, that map gives me a hatgasm. String of black pearls.

A little off topic, but damn I posted a LOT at when this thread started.

On Topic, I ordered a new copy of H3 to replace the one I lost. Best Buy has the Limited Edition for $40 so it was a good deal. Now I need to get money to buy the Legendary Map Pack :(

Thanks for the heads up. Ive been wanting to get back into Halo 3 Multiplayer for awhile now(sold my copy awhile ago) and this is a really good deal.

Me too... though I want tweaks to it.

Problem 1: People do not like territories and VIP as much as other gametypes

Logical Solution: Lower weightings of those gametypes or remove them until asked for again or playlist comes along that they would work in

Bungie Solution: Keep it in but weight them more so they appear more often

Problem 2: People have been begging on forums for Team Snipers playlist

Logical Solution: Add a Team Snipers playlist because when we tried it in Dbl Exp it had high useage

Bungie Solution: Wait on it. First we need to put up Head 2 head.

Problem 3
: Team doubles works and people don't really complain about it

Logical Solution: Do nothing

Bungie Solution: "Things are getting boring, lets add in objective gametypes that are quite random like crazy king"
Let's examine these three.

Problem one: When was VIP's weighting increased? It's worth noting that VIP isn't in Team Objective or Ranked BTB at all.

Problem 2: People wanted a Team SWAT playlist, and after it being a Double EXP weekend for awhile, it became one. Now, Snipers may one day become a playlist, but fr now, you can occasionally play it on weekends. Let's not pretend that Bungie is completely ignoring the community, okay?

I have complained about Team Doubles getting stale with nothing but slayer. Just because I didn't make posts pretending to be some grand majority doesn't mean it didn't happen. They added four gametypes. ONE of which is quite random, and the others have not been complained about here, so they must not be that bad. Again, your hyperbole.

You again need to consider that you, or HaloGAF, or MLG are not a majority of Halo players, they're a drop in the bucket. This odd sense of entitlement is really getting old.

You are 19 so I assume you have a lot of growing as a person.
Come on. Let's not do this.

So I finally saw the 'GAF Halo Cliques' venn diagram and there is no location for me on it. I should be near Eazy B somewhere, but I don't wear Flight (well, I do when I am an Elite, but I am so rarely an Elite).

You don't love me, GAF Cliques.

People who complain about nobody being on who aren't on when we've had six daisies every night for two weeks running.

or

People who delete Urk's friend requests.

The kid who constantly posts pink flight gifs is complaining about other people's posting. lmao
The douchebag who brags about spawn trapping randoms in objective games is acting like I care what he thinks. lmao

And I know for a fact that there is at least one fan of my flight gifs and that alone will motivate me to continue.

I wasn't on there either. Together we will form a much cooler Gaf Halo Cliques chart. As long was we have 2 boxes on our side no one can stop us lol

I accepted a friend request from you. Your night is my early morning.

Never forget that I am fond of you.

Ehh, not necessarily. MLG, Ranked BTB, remakes of maps, etc all come to mind as things that many parts of the community wanted and eventually got.

and in h2 the autoupdate, stats reset, team snipers & hardcore, standby fixes, banhammer, h1 remakes, relic teleporter glitch fix, tombstone geometry fixes, etc

i think they listen and act on the feedback as much as they can.

Yyyup.

Although Crazy King in Doubles is still a very silly decision anyway you slice it.

Moved to the new page.

For instance?

Let's do the first one.

Problem 1: People do not like territories and VIP as much as other gametypes

Logical Solution: Lower weightings of those gametypes or remove them until asked for again or playlist comes along that they would work in

Bungie Solution: Keep it in but weight them more so they appear more often
You are being really vague here. Before we talk about weightings, let's first look at where and how often they appear. You mention Territories, but I assume you mean Land Grab as well.

Going through the handy Playlist details on Bungie.net, I see those gametypes only appear in a total of three playlists:

Code:
Playlist VIP Territories Land Grab Total
Ranked Big Team 0.0% 3.0% 2.0% 5.0%
Social Skirmish 5.7% 19.1% 19.1% 43.9%
Social Big Team Battle 16.1% 11.9% 0.0% 28.0%

Now that that's out of the way, I can rephrase your problems and solutions into this handy guide:

Problem 1: I want to play a small team based objective game, but don't like VIP/Territories/Land Grab.

---Solution 1: If you want a small game that features no VIP or Territories whatsoever, play Team Objective. It is 100% bomb and flag games.

Problem 2: But I want to play a BTB game with no VIP/Territories/Land Grab.

---Solution 2: If want a BTB game with the same, play RBTB. They almost never appear, with only 5% weighting combined.

Let's expand this for the (few) fans of VIP/Territories/Land Grab.

Problem 3: I want a BTB game featuring Territories or VIP.

---Solution 3: Play Social BTB, where they appear a total of about a quarter of the time.

Problem 4: I want a VIP/Territories/Land Grab in small teams.

---Solution 4: Play Social Skirmish, where they appear.

Problems solved.

I only did one. He can have the others. I could have done those, but I want him to live.

But seriously, it's almost as if Bungie though of that problem and built a solution into their playlist design. Weird.

You're talking about quitting, right?:D

Angry feelings coming out, I see.

Ah well, we can't all be pleasant all the time. Better to air out the laundry now, rather than let it fester.

Anywho...who's looking forward to the new maps at PAX?

....oh, and that award thread was hilarious.

So personally insulting people for months (Dax) is OK but killing people a lot in a multiplayer video game isn't. Cool.

If the stadium starts to shake I'mma wonder why in the hell I'm in the stadium instead of the convention center.

Urk has been sending friend requests?

lol

Kinda. Things are still a bit mucked up, but starting to become sorted out. I've got a temp account, but didn't rebuild the list completely. I think I have about ten people total on it, comprised of the crew I play with nearly nightly.

But we'll cyber soon enough, my friend.

I wish I could go to PAX, but living almost as far away as possible in the continental US certainly is a deterrent. The prospect of an east-coast PAX in 2010 is fucking exciting, though. But it's prolly going to end up being in New York or something, which is a goddamn long way from Athens, Ga. despite being on the east coast. ;(

At least the GAF presence will be able to relay the Halo awesome back to those of us who can't go.

You know, actually playing Halo 3 turns out to be a very rewarding experience. I was playing Social Slayer (hey kylej) with a buddy and his guest, and there were a lot of awesome, fist-pumping moments. One game I got a double-headshot snipe to end the game. In another game, the 4th guy on our team quit, and we were down all game long, and at the end we were down 44-46, I got a double kill, my friend got a double kill, and we each sniped someone to win.

It just reminds me how much better Halo 3 is when you're not being insanely competetive, and when you're playing with friends, not idiot randoms.

The same goes for me. I can't wait for the 1up Yours recording. I'll finally see Garnett and Shane IRL and not in gif form. :lol

I ran into Shane on an escalator last year. He saw my GT on my badge and knew me from GAF. Lurker total.

(He was cordial in person.)

Anyone see that before?

The Flood, Cortana, Chief, Brutes and Hunters all on Rat's Nest. :lol

Nice little tease at the end. :P
Hmmmmmmm!!

Good stuff. VERY interesting to see Campaign elements on Rat's Nest.

There is no way they can fuck with us like that. Please tell me this is a sneak peek at the major changes coming in September to Halo 3 :D (Included in Halo supplemental 'Halo: Blue' ?)

Full Map editor shown at the end? AI on maps? (or maybe that was just added for fun? Why not do sp then though?) My god. *bows*

For your sake, just get those ideas out of your mind.

And REMAIN CALM.
