The Crew Delayed to December

Good call, with FH2, DC, and Project cars this holiday. This game won't have a chance. If I were them I would release it in Q1 2015.

December isn't going to drastically change things.

Game is still going to be crushed by the competition (and by the terrible first impression) but deserves a second chance.

1st Release - Spring 2014
2nd Release - Fall 2014
But they announced the 13 November = winter
3rd Release - 2nd December

They delayed it three ! times !!!

Since when does November = winter? They're going by the calendar, not by your opinion of what feels like winter.

Has every big Ubisoft game been delayed over the past year? Watch Dogs, The Crew, The Division, ACU...

well, your partially right.... it really depends on the game. some games that are more 'gift-able' tend to do really well in December; like, cheaper games or casual/family titles.

november games for a lot of core games do better since people buy them for themselves on black friday, as an example.

though 'not release at all' is a bit extreme. you can still do better in december than a lot of other months of the year, for example. like the summer.

I'd argue that the cost to manufacture, distribute and market the game would be more money spent than the money gained from not releasing it in December. It's the reason products get canceled when they're finished. It's a sunk cost, without the need to spend anymore money on it. I agree it depends on the game, but something like The Crew is just going to get lost.

a driving game with horrible driving mechanics. a two month delay wont fix something that should have been the focus of development from day1.

Prince of Persia (2008 video game) got delayed till December 2nd, 2008 and that Ubi Soft title never saw a sequel. I just hope The Crew becomes a "B to B+ rate" title.

I have been expecting this announcement ever since they pushed AC Unity to November 11th. This is for the best, as the game won't have as much competition. I really hope they use the time to improve the AA and add in some AF. The game isn't the best looking game in the world, which isn't surprising since it's an MMO, but the AA was awful and the apparent lack of any kind of texture filtering was absolutely destroying the visuals. Everything was a jagged mess, and everything past a few yards was a complete blur when I played in the PC Beta.

Either way, I am really looking forward to the game. There is a ton to do, and the open world is massive and a blast to drive around in. I just hope it gets the polish it needs.

Since then they've said performance parts can't be bought, but they haven't been at all clear what the microtransactions are for yet.

Yeah. I know it is a fairly old article. Do you have anything that says the retracted about microtransactions on performance parts? Article says you can.
