Have psn money in my account ready to go for this but I tried the demo and just couldn't get used to using button/trigger controls. I'm sure I could get over it with practice but might wait a bit on this one.

Any confirmation on whether or not this works on Playstation TV?

I know the demo doesn't. I'm guessing the full game is the same?

So if i see a red dot, I press Square or X, and for blue dot I press either of the other two buttons right?

basically it's a two button rhythm game (red and blue, like you said), and there's a whole bunch of ways you can configure the controls. my personal recommendation involves the inner face/d-pad buttons for red, and the outer ones for blue, like this.

also, small OP correction involving DLC stuff (it's confusing lol)

Free DLC through August 31st:
Tutti!
Uchouten Vivace
Dr. Wily Stage 1

Popular Song Pack 1 (500 yen):
Ai Uta
Daydream Cafe
Atatakain Dakara
Chain Chronicle Normal Battle Medley
DEBSTEP!

Popular Song Pack 2 (500 yen):
maximum the hormone
Sousei no Aquarion
Ultraman X
Sengoku BASARA BGM Medley
Joubutsu 2000

and i believe this is all releasing later today

alright alright time to drop the "what the fuck bamco" bombs

no pstv support

So did they ever add touchscreen controls or is it buttons only?

no touch control

Anyone with the full version know if it restricts screenshots?

no screenshots

this shit is straight up baffling lol

might as well call this a psp port and that would be understandable

you can get hella trophies tho

like when you get down to it, this is all stuff that i wouldn't really use too much (i know some people would get a lot of use of pstv or touch support so i only speak for myself), but it's just like... why? can't imagine it being too hard to get this stuff in there. there's similar goofy stuff in the other games, like the 3DS ones not allowing miiverse screenshots.

game's still super fun and all, but this is just real silly. it puts people off.

This game's story mode is pretty much the extra challenges from 3DS2. They're damn hard for someone like me, but maybe not for people like... Bankslammer!

Type E or whatever is also good. It's type b, but it also has support on the analogs. Nice for drumrolls to just roll the sticks for crazy high numbers.

i got owned by the very first story boss i can never show my face round here again

it doesn't seem like they necessarily expect you to win but it still hurts ;A;

Yeah... that scared the shit out of me on Oni. I was like, "How is this the first level?!?!?!"

Edit: Is there a trophy for completing every mission and quest? This seems like a real grind just to "beat" the game. What do you think of the story mode in this one? I definitely prefer 3DS2's.

Edit 2: Somebody should post when the DLC is available ^^

DLC is up and running. Was it already known that Nippon Erekiteru Rengo had a free dlc costume coming out? I feel like I remember a post about that.

Already bought, now I need to wait a month to get here.

I will try to dl the free songs at least. I wasn't planning on using a jp memory card on the vita so soon, but with this and IA/VT, I guess I will be playing a lot of those in the coming months.

Fuck all the hazards, really.
This story mode is such a grind. I don't like how hard monsters are to kill. You can miss like 5 notes and not kill one. I need better gear, I guess?

The snow one was particularly bad for me because it lasts the entire song. Most of the time they're only for 2 or 3 sections.

I think you're supposed to change up your equipment to hit weaknesses more often. I'd just been sticking with a default set, and ended up not being able to deal enough damage. Seems like some enemies, like Noise, don't have weaknesses, though?

I've just found out that Donder Quest doesn't really seem balanced around Oni difficulty at all, Oni Charlie Dash is stupid hard for a second boss song, lol.

I can't find the DLC in the webstore, help?

It'd normally be on the bottom of the game's page on the web store, no? So I guess... they've opted to not have it appear anywhere other than through the game itself? Suppose they want to make sure people don't get the free songs early and then buy the game down the line when it's cheaper. Fortunately, they're free through August, so even slow shipping shouldn't prevent anyone from getting them (though I get that it's inconvenient).

Yeah, it's just that it becomes so tedious—going into the inventory screen after every song. I do like how often you unlock stuff, but realizing how many quests there will be makes my head spin. What's your DR?

btw, there's an official survey for the game. You need to own the game and have played three hours to use it, and the access key can be found in the instruction manual. Haven't looked at what's in it myself, but it may be good to try to voice complaints regarding PSTV compatibility, screenshots, touch control, all that.

Oh, yeah, I agree that it's a pain. But it seems like the most sure way of completing quests on your first go.

I think I'm 6? Last thing I did before I had to go to work was get destroyed by the jester boss.

Is there a list somewhere that indicates what songs are covers vs. original artists?

I don't remember any song from the anime, variety or the J-POP list that isn't a vocal cover. I think only vocaloid, game and Namco Original songs are from the original artists, and even that isn't true in some cases.

That matches what I have heard in videos yesterday, but some weren't of the Vita version so I was curious.

i was always under the impression that covers were the exception and not the norm, at least for the songs i was familiar with, lol. probably because i only know a select few of the anime ops, for all i know they could be 90% covers.

but yeah, with the exception of the ios version in a few cases, the version of a song used should be consistent throughout the series. so just look up a video of a song, and it should be the same for every other version.

Got myself the Chinese version.

Note: If you got the Chinese version, be sure to set your Vita language settings to Traditional Chinese, if not your game will appear in Japanese.

I have absolutely no idea if Chinese ver users like myself are able to get songs like "Tutti" and Dr Wily stage 1 as early purchase bonus...

Is it looking like you'd be missing out on a lot of future content if you just import for the base game, and don't get a JP PSN account?

They were listed on Chinese retailer pages and the Chinese version is set to get DLC, I'm sure they're coming.

It'll probably get DLC support for about a year like the 3DS and Wii U games. Plus there's the free stuff out now. There's definitely plenty in the base game, 90 songs is a damn good number, but I really do think it'll be worth your while to set up a JP PSN account for the game (though I recognize it can be a bit of a hassle, especially with only 1 memory card).

Wow, so confirmed no PSTV support even though on Play-Asia said it was and it's on the Vita TV jp site. From what I'm told, it's PlayStation's decision whether it can be added to the Vita TV compatibility list. So seriously, what the fuck.

Looks like I'm buying a Vita.
