Not a bad first year. B from me.

  • DK Bananza was a legitimate banger
  • MK World was fun
  • I thought Metroid Prime 4 was overly hated on
  • Kirby Star Crossed World was pretty neat

Haven't played much else just yet. The visual upgrades on Switch 1 games has been great, I must say.

B from me, there's been a large variety to play with a trickle of disappointments here and there.

If Metroid Prime 4 lived up to the pedigree of the series it would have been an A

Only game I bought was Mario Kart World but with Star Fox on the horizon I'm gonna grab that when it comes out. Backwards compatibility was the real seller for me. I'm giving year one a B only because cause I really want to see more upgrade.

MKWorld was meh compared to MK8 or even Double Dash

Pokemon ZA i had fun, but i can admit that the game is trash tier in almost every aspect

DK Bananza i did not played so i cant coment

Metroid Prime 4 utterly shit

i m going with D

I guess it's going okay. My physical collection (which admittedly has some key cards in it, blegh)

But that's just a part of my overall Switch game collection

C. It had a couple pretty good games but nothing that totally blew me away or anything. Hope they have some good stuff to announce for this year.

Backward compatibility is its best feature yet and it makes this console my favorite Nintendo console. I think it might become my favorite console . It's just such a nice gaming device.

I give it a B+

DK Bananza, MK World, Resident Evil Requiem, Indiana Jones, Pragmata, and Cyberpunk 2077 are great, and I also quite enjoyed the likes of Fast Fusion, Kirby Air Riders, Hades II, Hyrule Warriors, etc.

I am sitting on a B-, however I really haven't bought many Switch 2 games. Like I only have MKW, Pokopia, Prime 4 and both Zelda upgrades. I am waiting for Fire Emblem.

Since I use my Switch 2 primarily as a handheld, that boost mode update was my highlight so far. Playing most Switch 1 games I have in full 1080p on the go has been great!

It's not that bad but neither that spectacular. B+ or A-.

By the way, bought an open copy of FF7 Rebirth today for 25+shipping, apparently TCG collectors are scalping the copies to pick up the limited Magic: The Gathering card and quickly sell the game for 25-30 bucks.

Oh wow, it's been a year already?
Walmart.com still never charged me for my Switch 2 that I preordered from them. I guess I'm in the clear now?
(I did call several times and try to explain but they kept telling me that they already had their money lol)

Been OK. Probably should have rated them lower because a new system without a Mario tease 1 year in is some fucking bullshit, but its a good system and the kids love it.

It's ok. A few good exclusives. Been mostly playing BC games. Still bummed that a few of my Switch games are not compatible.

Voted B. Really enjoyed DK Banaza, as well as Metroid Prime 4. Still have a bunch of other games to catch up on, and the rest of this year is going to be 🔥 I think.

it's a worse first year than the Switch 1 that is for sure. because DK Bananza was great, but it is no Mario Odyssey. and then there was Zelda of course, and no game can compare to that so far.

I think the first year of the Switch 1 being so crazy good, made this one seem worse in comparison than it really is. because the Switch 1 had an unusually strong first year, while the Switch 2 only had a decent one.

Pokopia and Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and Pokemon Legends ZA alone make it a pretty good year, but I think the best is yet to come, so I guess I'd give it a B.

It's a D from me, Mario Kart World was good for a few days, but ultimately it's not as good as MK8, DK Bananza was good but overstayed it's welcome a bit, by the time i got deep into it i was deeply bored by the gameplay, Wonder should have probably been kept back for a Switch 2 launch game if i'm honest, it would have really changed the opinion of the Switch 2's first year if we'd played that for the first time on the Switch 2.

FC26 and Madden being 30fps is unacceptable for me, not on Nintendo, it's on EA but Nintendo should have stepped in and said the ports need to be of higher quality.

Solid B for me. I'm actually surprised at how much it reinvigorated my interest in my Switch library (ESPECIALLY after boost mode). The Switch 2 is Big Bro Switch that is going to be getting 3rd party support for at least five more years. It's just warming up.

It was solid. Probably a B for me.
Not as good as the first Switch's launch window. But I got more out of it than the ps5's or Series X's launch windows.

The 3rd party support is unparalleled. I'm playing FF7 Rebirth, RE9 and Indiana Jones, three current gen exclusives (not available on PS4), in the palm of my hands, and they all look and run great. For a 1st year, for Nintendo, it's been an A.

I guess we can fully compare the first year output now.

There's been a lot of software released but DK Bananza has been the main highlight for me. Beyond that I've found most new entries somewhat disappointing or underwhelming.

Probably a C for me. The Switch (1)'s first year was a lot better imo, if only because of Mario Odyssey and BotW.

B

+BC is great i hope Nintendo expands on it
+solid game output with Bananza being the highlight

-GKC Nintendo needs to get rid of that bullshit as fast as possible
-the screen is really not that good we need an OLED version

C at best, and that's crutching on the Gamecube classics app. It has been a mostly nothing first year for me. MP4 was disappointing, MKW was bad, and I haven't played DKB yet but I can tell it's not going to hold a candle to Odyssey.

Unfortunately, a clear D. For me personally, the Switch 2 is a total disappointment and has barely managed to hold my interest for any length of time. I found all the exclusive games released so far boring after a short while and focused instead on GameCube games. I hope things improve significantly in the second year.

I give it a C.

It's not great but it's also not terrible. It's just... there. I'm currently away from my consoles, but I didn't even think about taking the Switch 2 with me. It's just not a great player yet.

Metroid being shite kinda spoiled it for me since there haven't been a gap filler since DKB because of it. Here's to a good Direct come this Tuesday!

Mario Kart was massively underwhelming and disappointing

Haven't played Metroid

Donkey Kong Bananza was amazing, a timeless classic

Upgraded Switch games are absolutely amazing in many cases

So.. C for me.

First year of the Switch 1 was never going to be beaten, Switch 2 has had too many releases for my liking.

Anniversary? Sweet, new Nintendeen content.

Fire Love GIF

Had my Switch 2 for a year and grade it a C-.
I purchased exactly 2 games and a TOtK upgrade.

And still don't understand the love for DKW. It's like I played a boring Rampage simulator while everyone else played something amazing… I want a refund.

Satisfied owner since day 1.

B for me. Nintendo's exclusives weren't too hot, but being disappointing doesn't mean they were shit. And they were still leagues above anything other first parties delivered, both in quantity and quality.

Bought one at launch.

- Hardware - with the exception of the Pro controller - is an absolute shitshow. I don't even know where to begin shitting on it
- Exclusives so far don't appeal to me, but I think it's fair to say that at least some of them (Bananza for example) are high quality if you consider just the more or less objective criteria. They obviously found their audience and are very successful it seems
- The whole software and services domain is, as tradition with Nintendo, complete and utter shit

That being said the most recent news and rumours made me cautiously optimistic for the following years. I preordered Star Fox which is saying something.

C
Banana Is the worst Nintendo game I player in a lot of time
Mario Kart Is already forgotten
Let's not talk about Metroid

Buy Hey, It sells a lot so se won!

My thoughts as well. I really liked MP4 personally.
