I'm enjoying it a lot. The larger screen is great and is a size that allows me to really enjoy in handheld mode. I must have been lucky because my LCD seems to be pretty good quality, although it should have been OLED. The joycons are still pretty clumsy to use without a grip of some sort, and Nintendo really needs a left joycon option with a d-pad. I know there are a couple of good third party options so it's not the end of the world. I've been using the abxylute N6 for the past week or so and it feels more like using a steam deck, so that's nice.

I'd probably give it a B after the first year. I think it needs a few more exclusive Nintendo games to hit a good stride, though.

Frankly, I think folks gaslighting us to think this screen isn't fantastic are paid propagandists. Yes, the blacks aren't as black as an OLED screen. That's it. Other than that, the screen is vibrant and gorgeous.

B for me.

Great console and my first Nintendo since the N64, but man…:

- No OLED hurt
- These fucking game prices…

I would rate it a B- . I got it with MK bundle on a bit of a discount.

Kids played MKW and liked it, but I think MK8 S1 version is overall a better game. It's strange that we went a year without any DLC or major improvements to the game.

Bananza I skipped and kids had no interest. The newest Pokemon game proved to be fairly mediocre but at least S2 improvements were pretty decent. That's pretty much all kids since I am not into Pokemon.

Really what saved the system for me was excellent BC with new boost option and many companies including Nintendo producing updates for S1 games. Playing some of those S1 titles in handheld mode with good performance was excellent.

I did get a few S2 games from SE and Sega on some sales, but they were all key cards which was just unfortunate. DQ3 on S2 is great but already had that on Steam Deck.

And really the main issue is that I already had Steam Deck OLED and Legion Go S Z1E so most games I would have played on the Switch I played there.

The screen issue that makes it substandard is ghosting. Colors are fine but latency is simply terrible.

That is fine on Dragon Quest but any racing or action game makes that really visible.
