I can imagine in your head…

- Series X is magnitudes stronger than PS5.
- Series S is not magnitudes weaker than PS5.

In graphic way: Series X >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS5 >= Séries S

Because reasons lol
Remember when 2tf different between ps5 and series X was supposed to make a magnitude of difference hell it didn't even mean ps5 could have good games lol

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
Your post could've been written in 2010. People have been saying that for decades.

Consoles never sold as much as right now. Xbox is selling better than ever. Switch is Nintendo's biggest home console ever. PS5 is only not breaking all console sales records because it can't. But sure..."the migration is going to continue"

And it is becoming more true with passing time. We are in the era where both Xbox and Playstation are bringing their first party exclusive games to PC, because they know they cant survive on only consoles anymore. That’s why they are cutting the forecast here. We are into the new norm where people are heavily shifting into cloud and subscription gaming.

They better move Taiwan to Mexico.

Sony’s biggest mistake is not putting PS4 cheap plentiful hardware into a portable.

But anyways Sony might have to buy a third party publisher because they wont have enough new hardware to increase sales as PS4 dies down.

They are cutting the forecast here because they can't produce more consoles. Not because people don't want to buy them.

Why are we pretending people are migrating to PC because they aren't interested in consoles anymore? The console market was never this healthy. If Sony could produce like they wanted they would probably be around 25M at the end of march. Switch is going to surpass PS4 in a year and Xbox is selling faster than even their Xbox 360....their best selling console ever.

Hopefully the supply could get better.

Getting sick of crossgen games.
Supply is not the reason you are seeing so many cross gen games, in fact both PS5 and Series consoles are selling better than last gen consoles did at the same time. The reason you're seeing so many cross gen games is because it's so easy to program games between these two generations as this is the first time that two console generations share the same architecture. Remember, these cross gen games were in development way before Covid and supply issues. Also, the big three have become more greedy and more focused on profit margin than they ever were before. Some will point to the fact that games are getting more expensive to make, but this point can easily be countered by the fact that games sell better than they ever did before and do so at a higher price this gen.

No they are not...at least in the case of PlayStation. Your information is out of date and that is in fact almost certainly the reason for the extended cross gen.

Ok, I'm off with that, but so is Daniel, PS4 sales in the same period were 18.5 million (https://www.sie.com/en/corporate/release/2015/150106.html). So just 1.2 million more, hardly a big enough difference for strategy change.

All of this is irrelevant anyway since Sony's cross gen strategy was in place well before Covid and supply issues. The fact that you're attributing cross gen to supply issues is baffling to me since these decisions were made before console launch and before supply issues.

Migrating to PC smh I paid €500 for an RTX3060 and that was considered a good deal by today's standards.

I am not sure, considering they made the initial estimation after factoring the element that they can’t produce more consoles.

There isn’t anyone pretending here. With PC gaming winning as the console manufacturers are putting their exclusive titles, the trajectory (from full exclusive to late port on PC) indicates that its only a matter of time that they will starts releasing their respective console exclusives day one on PC as well, before adding cloud streaming into the mix before slowly giving up on consoles. Its not going to happen overnight, but its something inevitable. I don't recommend getting too attached to the idea of console gaming right now. Everyone praised Sony for their first party cinematic adventure game output in the past years, yet they are moving into GaaS after witnessing the bigger success of online and esports gaming on PC (and mobile).

As an ps4 pro and one x game I’ve yet to see a significantly reason to upgrade. I’ll continue to wait for a better slim revision thank you very much.
