never heard of those. No release track record to speak of either.
Another support studio?
The mobile gaming sector is a multi-billion market. Most games are pretty simple with short development cycles (much less complex) and service based + Pay2Win and growing and growing. I guess sony want's to have a share of this big cake.
The risk to fail in this sector is high but the development-costs are much, much lower, so overall the risk is not that high. Sony has also a big enough fanbase so they can be quite sure whatevery they release will be a hit.

Ah Sony continuing their policy of only buying studios they have a storied history with by buying this studio formed in… 2020?

Could be some weird legal loophole. E.g. some specific engineers or directors or something Sony wanted to hire but couldn't due to rules about snatching talent from certain partners, so they formed a "shell" company that could be legally acquired.

It's called "aquihire".

It's an european (finnish with berlin studio) mobile game company with about 25 employees (according to their linkedin). Probably doesn't cost that much to buy them.
Their motto is "We make action games with epic stories to foster lasting connections with players around the world."
