It's not optimal but launch allocations will sell out regardless. It doesn't really matter unless they don't have anything for mid 2021.
As great as those guys did they did not build up the studios like needed to they wasted resources on stupid exclusive deals. Hate to break it to you but the 360 was very powerful for when it came out a full year before the ps3 so power, power, power. Things are going just fine now they have a real budget and rebuilding the first party studios. Best spending on studios than wasteful timed exclusives.Chasing power... yet again
Screaming it from the rooftops...yet again.
It happened with One X too.
It's no wonder that the only time MS was able to give Sony a run for their money was during the 360 ERA when they had a strong focus on software and ease of development on the 360 platform. There wasn't this POWER POWER bullshit they love throwing around these days.
They also had competent hungry leaders of the division in J. Allard and Peter Moore. These guys made games the focus on 360 and it showed because I ended up owning 2 360s during those years.
Never went back since because theyre still riding on Gears, Forza and Halo fucking decades later into their 4th generation.
Nothing wrong with these games but that's basically all you have to go with if you consider an Xbox.
I'm already on record for saying this but it is worth repeating: Do we get outraged every time a new graphics card launches, if it doesn't have 10+ games specifically designed to run on it and only it at launch?
Or, are we simply happy that it runs our current games waaaaay better than our old graphics card? (This is where I sit).
Sure, it's disappointing Microsoft couldn't sex up this launch with some new games. I'm disappointed in them too. Your favourite games will look and play better, and of course load much faster. The new stuff will come. I'd rather have this new console than spend another year with what we have.
Phil said this in June. Selling tons of new consoles and getting the biggest install base is the way Sony and Nintendo do business. MS has for YEARS now pushed to get games on just about every platform they don't have to pay someone else to get their games on. That includes PS, cell phones, AND consoles. Plus Game Pass is the thing they are selling now. If you don't want an XSX or XSS don't buy one. Getting game pass on PC or xCloud make MS happy too. I'm surprised Ryan didn't know MS is playing the long game getting Game Pass subs up and selling consoles is not the focus. If no one signs up for Game Pass then MS failed.Phil Spencer said:I don’t need to sell any specific version of the console in order for us to reach our business goals.

Does he only play exclusives and never plays 3rd party titles?
Nah, MS mostly has the hardware all ready and might be a bit late in the sdk department but the unit is good to go. The problem is as usual the first party games being that they usually don't have.Xbox is only launching this year because MS didn't want to give PlayStation 5 a year head start. It's quite clear.
PS5 is well covered on both bases IMO, and it's unfair to minimise Sony making games like DS exclusive to PS5.
That said, Xbox goes in a different direction leaning on Game Pass, which I feel too many act like it somehow isn't the best deal in gaming
Those will be on other consoles too. That was his whole point. There is nothing that says you have to spend $500 right now to play game A, B or C. You will be $500 richer and still be able to play those games without a Series X|S. That being said, I will be $500 poorer playing those games on the Series X.Does he only play exclusives and never plays 3rd party titles?

This is usual XBOX, there is no shocking news.
This is just about every console launch. They don't seem to be making many HW units, are taking a massive bath on them, games are behind, direct storage is 2021....
Sure it's good to go, but in a world where PlayStation 5 doesn't launch, they don't launch this year.
This is just about every console launch.
Can anything you say be taken seriously with that tag of yours?A remake that looks decent, a game thats also on pc, and a game that has no release date, and an add on game? Hardly brimming with exclusive launch content in ps5 land either.
People keep talking about DS, because MM is cross-gen, but MM looks fucking amazing. Mile Morales will almost certainly be the best-selling next-gen game this winter. At least of the exclusives. There's no doubt going to be a bunch of knobs buying COD, FIFA, and Madden. I'll personally be throwing my hat into the NBA2k knob arena as well.MS does not have a single next gen exclusive system seller at launch and Sony only has DS.
Pretty desolate on both fronts imho.
FIFA Knob right here.People keep talking about DS, because MM is cross-gen, but MM looks fucking amazing. Mile Morales will almost certainly be the best-selling next-gen game this winter. That "at this moment" you added to the sentence is key. We don't know what's the current state. In fact we only know that some developers said it was easier to work with ps5 than with xsx some months ago. We don't know if that makes it better. As APIs and SDKs are constantly evolving, Xbox SDK being late MEANS ps5 SDK is better, at this moment.
How things will evolve it is impossible for us to predict. (who is gonna screw something up next?)
You were saying there were no games with RT at launch. I gave you an example. If you had tried to be informed instead of spreading FUD like this you'd have seen that there are multiple games (not none, not one) that are said to be using RT at launch on the XSX.You're telling me a singular cross-gen title having RT isn't far below what MS marketing promised? They were supposed to have "real" RT and "most consistent performance" I was told.
Of course they will. And they'll all be on Ps5 too. And I have no evidence apart from spec sheets that the XsX will run anything better than the Ps5, so why would I feel the need to spend £450 on it?
What's Sony's then they have the best studios in the world and a remaster and dlc is it from those studios. Rag on the B team all you want but what happened to the all star team. Neither is 9-9-99 neither has a Mario 64 so it is buying either for fun and the future.Keep making excuses for them, they need it.
Man how can you not be excited about next gen. Day 1 we have
Both
Assassins Creed Valhalla
Cyberpunk
Watchdogs London
Enhanced titles.
Full last gen backwards compatibility.
PS5:
Spiderman Miles Morales
Demon Souls
XBSX:
Enhanced legacy games
Gamepass
All this in the middle of a global pandemic that has pretty much wrote off 2020.
Some peoples expectations are far too high. Last gen it was pretty much Shadowfall and Black Flag then nothing of note till Bloodborne.

same as PS5 what's making you buy that day one? like I said MM can be bought on PS4 and I am a massive fan of Spiderman on my PS4, dark souls looks good but its a game many people have played many times. yeah it will be good but not for me a system seller like MM could of been if it weren't cross gen
Personally? Big Souls fan, so Demon's Souls got me to pull the trigger on the pre-order. Will also probably pick up Miles Morales, as enjoyed the first game. I might even dip back into CoD, as that looks pretty decent too.
Much better than Ps4 launch. Much better. I tried my hardest to enjoy Killzone and Resogun... I know I'll have a much better time this time around as Souls will be amazing.
i am sorry lol, WTF haha are you on, seriously stop with this bullshit.
This is ridiculous, in fact this is just plain silly. Now i think your just trolling.
Yeah it's only more powerful and 50% smaller in form factor... If that's not out-engineered then I don't know what is.Come on, mate. That's a ridiculous thing to say when you have no evidence of it whatsoever! Video game consoles are designed to play video games, nothing else. Until you can compare performance on the two consoles, you have no idea which one is better engineered. It might well end up that XsX is the better engineered console with better performance, but to state that it's a fact when you've seen nothing to prove it is just mindless fanboyism, and you're generally better than that.
Xbox one did have the better launch games compared to PS4 and its just switched this time, shame halo didn't make it but better to delay than release it as it was
We're counting DLC as a complete game? Demon Souls is great but after that I'm not really impressed with either launch lineup. The Medium is the game im looking forward to.

Hence why I'm buying a Ps5 now and not an XsX.
If this gen is anything to go by, the exclusives are the only real things that can take advantage of the full potential of a console's hardware. We've seen what devs can do on the PS4 already looking better than most games out there, just imagine how good they'll look on PS5.”What am I gonna do on this thing?” Play games on it.
”How am I gonna show it off?” Play games on it.
I’m sure Phil Spencer is more disappointed than we are that there are no big launch exclusives, but it is what it is. Series X will still play all cross gen games better than XB1 and it will play next gen multiplats. If you want the new gen excitement then buy a PS5 now and check back with Xbox in a year or two. That’s all there is to it.
Quality > quantity. It has Spider-Man and Demon's Souls, it's already the best launch lineup since the PS2.Both consoles don't have much games day 1 but they will improve the performance for current gen games which is a good enough reason for some people to buy at launch.
With over a billion dollars spent to acquire studios MS will still have the problem of having no AAA exclusive until early 2022 which is why they are pushing xcloud and game pass so hard.
Yeah only TF...If you're arguments are still coming down to teraflops and the size of the box, you're scrabbling around with nothing.
Neither of those things means the XsX will run games better than Ps5.
And until we see game comparisons, your claims about the XsX being more powerful will only be believed by people who are already XBox fans. Nobody else. Which is the majority.
The way I see it I am getting both but I save money getting the xbox first since I have gamepass. I'll pick up a PS5 slim and any exclusives I missed won't be 70 dollars anymore.I am waiting for ps5 personally, I aint a massive fan of sony games, yeah its just me. I prefer online multiplayer stuff. I do love the Spiderman game though. as much as I liked the batman games
