Similarly, if the PS3 is still $500 at the end of 2008, then either Sony has been wildly successful beyond all reasonable and even unreasonable expectations or Sony is eager to commit suicide. I think $400 is much more likely, $450 would be the absolute highest end.

Yeah, it's gonna get discontinued so they can transfer the manufacturing facilities over to the next revision of the DS that they are prepping for next year.

I think instead that they'll be forced to drop two times (spring and fall) by $50 during 2007 due to slow sales, even if this will mean more losses for them.

Yeah. I'm not extremely confident in my guesses, because there's not much in the past to directly compare the next few years to.

Hard to guess for the first two, but we can assume the Wii's going to cost $99, since it's the way Nintendo always does things.

By "always does things", though, that pretty much means GameCube. If GCN was a bigger success early on, they wouldn't have had reason to jump straight from $150 to $100.

I hoestly hope most of you are wrong and the PS3 won't still be at $300 or over TWO years from launch.

My original prediction was that PS3 would drop to $300 in 2008... back when I guessed it would launch at $400.

3. End of 2008 for anyone who gave end of 2008 + something else.
4. Excluding "new premiums" and HD-DVD editions.
