:lol :lol ... I just got back from biking so I guess I was typing sloppily but thanks. I love cooking actually and I was at my friends and it was 2.00 am and everyone was hungry, so I worked with what he had, which was hardily anything but they said it was great and thats usually all that matters

well i've had multiple venography's. all relating to the fact that my right subclavian is totally obstructed and absolutely nothing flows through it. i've had over 50 picc lines threaded through it and the introduction of a rather large chest port was the final nail in the coffin. i was one a 2 yr treatment of iv antibiotics and near the end of the regimen, the port basically stopped working. went in and took a look and found out the subclavian had basically closed off. so we placed a stent to open the vein back up but that only lasted for a couple of months. needless to say, the port became useless so we removed it and since then we've run more tests to measure the closure of the vein -- which is complete and total occlusion. with stent still placed.

So what does all of this mean in regards of your health?

Nothing more appealing than the feeling of multiple metal guide wires wrapping around themselves inside your body. Well, other than the feeling of a metal guide wire introduced through the femoral touching up against your stent.

Do they know what caused the occlusion-- atherosclerotic plaque? hypercoagubility?

Picc lines usually placed for long term abx therapy-- sorry to hear about ur pliight and hope everything goes well.
