Oh yeah, the "anti-consumer" spiel that nowadays is used like a meaningless slogan for crybabies.
If you think the product "doesn't work" actually sue and see if "Australia" judges in your favor instead of defending ridiculous petitions for the falsely entitled. Of course, you wouldn't because the product is functional and either you don't know what functional conceptually means or you don't understand English and the meaning of the word "functional."
Be an adult and take responsibility for the money you
willingly spend.
Pretty much. 2042 fails in a lot of areas don't get me wrong, but I don't know if I'd go as far as state "anti consumer" or something. A game can flop, but someone needs to make the case for anti consumer instead of just screaming it out and hoping it sticks or something lol.
The game even had an open beta before launch
^^ This 100%. I recall even stating that we've seen flops were you got no demo, no beta, no review ready until AFTER launch or something.
2042 had a beta before release
2042 had an early access before release
Got reviews out before release
I'm sorry folks but no fucking excuse, I bought 2042 day 1, I didn't even play the fucking beta, BF has been a day 1 for me for generations, but if someone is going to cry about this shit, at least show they put in the effort to inform themselves about the state of the game, so much information was out about BF2042, that I just don't buy that someone had no means of knowing what was wrong with that game.
I hope EA won't refund a single copy. Those people knew damn well what they're getting into, previous BFs were disastrous at launch as well, and the next BF after 2042 will be exactly the same if not worse, and they'll yet again pre-order the ultimate edition, no offence but how fucking stupid you have to be to go over and over the exact same situation and expect different outcome? Don't buy unfinished games or stfu and wait for patches.
Agreed. Its even more odd cause this is after BFV, one of the worst launches and flops in the whole series. The worst part of 2042 isn't even some bug or glitch, its the design itself. If you look at a lot of the complaints, a lot of it is about the size of the maps being too big or bland, hating Specialist, no scoreboard, no voice chat etc, too much of it is about design, its not like some thing where it just crashes, but they looooove everything else or that the servers don't work etc.
The servers as far as I can tell with 70 plus hours in are fine as I've never been booted from a game randomly, I've only crashed once by the PS home screen, the bugs in the game are more minor like the reload staying on the screen or people freezing after you shoot them or your loadout resetting itself. This could be seen in the beta, early access etc. If they choose to still buy, its on them.
It's weird seeing many long time gamers and enthusiasts blaming the customer for having the temerity of pre-ordering a product (something one should feel confident in doing), while essentially absolving the manufacturer of guilt for baiting and switching and delivering a product that clearly wouldn't meet expectations (or even function as advertised).
lol just stop man, I pre-ordered the game myself, but as a long time BF fan, I knew what I was getting into and I'm fully aware of how buggy those launches are, I didn't even play the fucking beta, didn't waste much time any reviews or anything like this, they had too much info to pretend they were unformed about this game. So anyone crying over those issues, it was talked about right here on this fucking site, we literally talked about all the issues, design choices and we talked even more about the early access and more during its review which came out BEORE the fucking game came out
Anyone could have played the beta and saw this, played the early access and saw this, read a review warning them, watched the videos online before release, watch that shit after...I just don't know what to tell you but, too much was out about this game to really play the victim or something as if you had NO IDEA something was up with this game lol The worst elements about this game were on full fucking display, it wasn't a secret and I simply can't see this as a "bait and switch" as what the fuck did you play before of 2042 that had better design that they tricked you with or something? lol
I'd never give some faceless corporation that kind of influence over me
lol oh please bud, this has nothing to fucking do with any company, this has to do with common sense. The majority of what people talked about was this games bad design, the fact that the fucking game plays better now, then at launch , yet people are asking for this shows its more so the direction BF is headed in with no scoreboard, hero shooter vibes, wide open maps that serve as actual countries lol
So that being said, you could actually see what was going on simply by playing that beta, watching the footage of it, reading this sites numerous threads about it before release, play the early access, that isn't about any one company or "faceless corporation" that is simply common sense.
You simply cant pretend a trailer forced someone to pre-order, even the trailer shown for 2042 literally shows 99% of what can be done in the game, but thats literally MOST BF trailers.

Anyone that had 9 days to inform themselves with reviews, videos and even this very forum and still kept that pre-order, its on them. EA is many things, but I don't know if I can pretend that they were not extremely open about this games condition and giving the ability to play it before release.
If you got no beta, no early access, if you got trailers with entire list of features that literally didn't exist in the final game with no word on why, if EA blocked reviews until after release....then we can talk about someone pre-ordering something they were unaware of its condition. This isn't it.
I'd be the first to even admit this game had no business coming out in 2021, but shit at least those of us who actually are ok with the game, knew that in 2021 when we bought it. I just can't feel sorry for a person buying this day 1, that can just google and get a fuck ton of info easily on this title.
