Milestone for Trump: 1 million new jobs in six months

America has added more than a million jobs since President Trump took office.

The U.S. economy added a strong 209,000 jobs in July, more than economists had expected. The unemployment rate fell to 4.3%, matching a 16-year low. Just after the Great Recession in 2009, unemployment peaked at 10%.
"The economy is looking pretty good," said Cathy Barrera, chief economic adviser at ZipRecruiter, the job posting site.
Many economists say the United States is at or near "full employment," meaning the unemployment rate won't go down significantly more.
The job market continues to be one of the main strengths of the U.S. economy. July was the 82nd consecutive month of job growth.
But wage growth is sluggish. Wages grew only 2.5% in July. The Federal Reserve would like to see wage growth kick up to 3.5%.
The United States has added 1.07 million jobs during Trump's six months in office. Of course, he isn't entirely responsible for the job market's wins and losses. A slew of factors throughout the economy affect hiring decisions.
The good economic news comes days after Trump endorsed an immigration plan aimed at lowering the number of foreign-born workers by designing a skills-based system to determine who gets into the United States. Last year, there were 27 million foreign-born workers in the United States.
Several economists say the plan would put U.S. economic growth at risk if it meant there would be fewer workers in America. Economic growth is already paltry, and Trump has promised to boost it to 3% from its current range of about 2%.
"It would definitely slow economic growth if you slow the number of people coming in," said Steve Rick, chief economist at CUNA Mutual, an insurance firm.

Economists had forecast that 180,000 jobs were created during the month, according to Bloomberg. Hiring in June was revised to a faster rate than previously reported, by 9,000 jobs to 231,000.

Trump hates Obama but has no problem taking credit for something that was most likely Obama's (because Trump hasn't done a thing that would have affected job numbers)

Almost exactly a year ago, Donald Trump dismissed the stock market's rise under President Barack Obama as a "big bubble." Now President Trump is cheering as the Dow reaches 22,000 for the first time.

Isn't the executive branch supposed to wait until noon to comment on the jobs report?
The orange cunt barely operates on a normal person level, you want him to follow executive branch rules now?

So these employment numbers are real then. Didn't trump before state that unemployment was actually maybe 35% to 45% regardless of the fake numbers

Oh right, he drained the swamp and now the numbers are real.

He is continuing the steady trend that was started by Obama almost 8 years ago.
He hasn't even done anything that would significantly affect these numbers, yet.

He is literally just taking credit for Obamas work.

^^^ Is that real? It seems like a parody of itself.

The only positive impact from him is that there's a belief that a republican legislature and president will lead to beneficial tax changes for businesses.

If that doesn't come to pass I expect things to change some, especially the stock market.

He really doesn't understand how jobs work does he?

Given the nonsense he says during interviews that don't throw softball questions, he doesn't understand alot of shit. Considering how he got to where he is in life and how he stiffs people who worked for him, he doesn't understand work either.

thanks democrats
Can obama really be blamed for that though? Isnt that because of the crash that happened before obama took office? To me it looks like republicans driving the economy to the ground and democrats succeeding to recover. Too bad that people will think that its obamas fault

His supporters also attribute it to him rather than Obama. "Trump has done more in three months than Obama done in his entire presidency."

It's kind of amazing how good that really is, it's like state run media by a dictator good. Most of the public that saw that graph would have no clue that it actually means the opposite of what they are trying to represent.
They would need to show what the unemployment was after they left office but fox news knows they are lying with that chart.

That's exactly what it actually says. Fox News are trying to portray it like Republicans are the ones getting the low numbers because they're completely biased and partisan and have zero integrity. They know full well that's completely misleading, but they are straight up propaganda so they don't care.

They're not lying, they're purposefully omitting the context behind those numbers. The numbers, while 100% are true, just the numbers themselves posted in the void. Anyone who knew anything would know that no president could do shit about the numbers within the space of 3 months of taking office, thats the result of at least a few years of economic policy.

Yeah so basically, the numbers under the Democrats should actually be associated with the Republican president that proceeded them, and also vice versa in that the Republican numbers on the graph are actually the Democrat's numbers.

That's the entire point of the graphic, to mislead at a glance. The percentage under George W.'s face is actually how Clinton left office, meaning Bill took it from 7.1% (under George Sr.) to 4.4%. The same for Obama. He took it from 9% when George W. left to 4.5%.

Trump inherited the 4.5% from Obama. He has done fucking NOTHING to affect it, which is why this new story has nothing to do with him and everything to do with how Obama left the job market.

Of course. And for Bill Clinton, there was a global recession in the early '90's that affected unemployment #'s early in his presidency.

That's how jobs work. You fuck around on Twitter for 6 months and then they magically appear. It has nothing to do with the black dude that actually showed up and ran shit for 8 years.

Kind of amazing to see the democratic presidents inherit a high unemployment rate only to bring it back down then brought right back up with republican presidents

It's the same thing with the deficit. Every Republican presidency is the same. It's letting a bunch of meth heads house sit. You know they're going to pull the wires out of the wall and sell the copper for scrap.

More amazing that this dumbass country keeps deciding "It's time for change!" and votes Republicans right back in to fuck it all up again.

This has been the ebb and flow of the Republican-Democratic cycle since the 90's. Republicans come in, rack up crazy debt, cut taxes for the rich, and wreck the economy. Then, Democrats come in and spend their entire term fixing it.

Repeat, ad nauseam.

I'm convinced that Democrat messaging sucks. We really need to take advantage of idiots and get them to be on our side with misleading graphs and so forth.
