I think we were spoiled by Half Life Alyx. It looks nice but I cannot unsee City 17 rendered at such high quality.

I think hitman 3 will get close in VR, at least on ps5 and pcvr if it comes.

The environments and in gameplay stuff looks good, but the cutscenes are oddly not.

Definitely an improvement, and respawn delivers on gameplay.

You expected Alyx to inspire AAA devs 5 months later? Most AAA games aren't even in ready to show anything by then. Hell of an expectation.

No no, I just hoped it would be the beginning of something now that studios have had time to get to grips with vr over the last 5 years or so and that more studios would have big budget VR software to show by now.

The install base is just now becoming viable for publishers in the last year or so. For the first few years you're talking less than a few million headsets combined, and that's divided across multiple headsets too. The good thing is this past year has been huge for VR.
