Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite Gameplay Trailer

For everyone saying the game is early and the visuals are going to improve... you do realize the game is coming out in the matter of months right? Not even a year.... MONTHS.

But hey KOF 14 is getting a graphics patch post launch... why release anything relatively finished these days...
This exact situation happened with SFV. I think it's fair to say the graphics look bad, but it's not uprecendented to say that Capcom will improve them by launch.

Not even sure how they're comparing this game graphically to UMvC3. It blows it out the water and this game is still in development, wtf?

i think there is going to be assists like in mvc1 but they can't show them off since they only have 4 characters announced. they are gonna slowly announce new characters throughout 2017.

Is it confirmed there are no assists, or are people just jumping to that conclusion due to the footage? Just wondering if there was an official release with more information in it.

No assists confirmed:

Infinite’s fights are fought two-on-two and without call-in assist attacks, which might make some series fans a bit skeptical. But the move didn’t occur without a lot of consideration. The team at Capcom considered the decision for a long time before settling on two-versus-two for the sake of accessibility. Although frantic combat is core to the series, Director of Production at Capcom Mike Evans wants more casual fans to be able to jump in without being overwhelmed; in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, each player had to choose three characters from an enormous roster, then choose one of three assists for those characters. In Infinite, you’ll only have to select two characters and one Infinity Stone.

SFV between capcom cup 2014 and e3 2015 received a significant bump.

is avengers 3 coming out next year? If so then I can see this being released around the same time. To me it looks like it maybe one of those movie tie in game. Yeah the graphics looks really rough like a early ps3 game. Worse than kof14 at launch imo.

Looks fun.

Visuals still are a bit flat looking and I hope there's broad improvement by release. Also, still sad about lack of mutant or Fantastic Four characters, they will be sorely missed if something isn't worked out as development progresses to include them. X-Men in particular is one of the most iconic comic series in my own eyes, and it has been such a huge part of the MvC identity to me in the past... But, I do like other Marvel characters a whole lot as well.

However, I'm really digging Captain Marvel in this trailer and can't wait to see more roll out over the year.

Hoping for a reveal of DMC4-version Dante (DMC3 version in MvC3 was cool but I hope they switch to Uncle Dante as the base version here), Viewtiful Joe, and Leon S Kennedy (RE4 version) on the Capcom side.

Marvel, assuming no X-Men and FF for sure, Daredevil, Black Bolt, Black Panther, please!

One thing I'll give it is that I like that it lets you switch partners mid combo.

That was the one thing that I liked in SFxT

games visuals look a heaps better than 3's, don't know what you guys are seeing.

This reminds me of sf4 vs 5 comparisons lol

I would have preferred them letting Combofiend & Mike Ross play a quick game then this trailer with the cut gameplay segments.

This looks very underwhelming gameplay wise from your typical Marvel fare, I can see why they didn't call it Marvel vs Capcom 4 because it definitely doesn't look like the last 2 in the series.

I'm not going to lie, the game looks more appealing to me than the older Marvel VS Capcom games but that's because I thought 3vs3 ended up being a clusterfuck and I always forgot to use assists. I'm not a fan of any gem system though, even if it's different from SFvsTekken.

That said, if this looks appealing to me, a non Marvel VS Capcom fan, that doesn't bode too well for actual fans of the series, and this thread seems to confirm that.

Also SFxT wasn't a bad game, it sadly tanked with the DLC and Gem bullshit.

So if this is the true sequel to MVC1/TvC, let's go.

Minus the gems SFxT was extremely fun.. i don't get the hate at all. I've been waiting for another take on that style of vs games.

I really liked how Footsies Oriented SfxT was. You play the Footsies game, live by the footsies and die by the Footsies, that was consistent and it was great. If MvCI can elicit that feeling, it'll be quite great for me.

people really need to brush up on game development.

so many times people overreact to early footage only to get BTFO as the game goes forward.

shit tends to improve overtime

Is there a reason people can't say

NOW: "I'm not feeling this for reason _______"

LATER: "Ah, I see they've improved _______ and addressed concerns I had in way ______, my opinion of the game is much improved"

Like maybe we don't want to get too hyperbolic but this footage was put out there for us to judge. People are allowed to say they don't like what they see as long as they aren't SUPER DICKS about it

What's if Gems worked like the groove system in CvS2?

Hopefully this is one of those games that gets negative attention to start, but ends up being amazing. I have to say, personally, I'm not feeling this at all. Don't like the 2v2. Don't like the gem system. Don't like the art style. Reminds me too much of SFxT.

Gem system seems to just be a replacement for XFactor. It's not just different from SFxT's system, it's also not even remotely similar.

Game looks rough in parts due to being so early but this gif shows a lot of promise in terms of graphics.

And after being burned out on the derp of mvc3 (fuck Vergil), I'm down for a more toned down game. I wanted to say "honest" instead of "toned down" but I think that it would make a few people butt hurt.

I think it looks fun. Doesn't really look like MvC3, but as long as it's fun, I don't really mind. It just needs to feel distinct from what's already on the market for it to be worth a purchase from me. I wonder if they'll have any large characters that take up both slots like in TvC. I always thought that was a fun twist for those two characters.

SFV looked super rough at PSX two years ago. This looks beta-ready by comparison.

I have faith. Plus MvC3 is trash for anyone who actually wants to have some casual fun.

Give me Psylocke.

I can almost garuntee you that the graphics and the gameplay of the individual characters will look and feel amazing as the game nears its launch.

But, it's the overarching system and the overall need to throw the legacy of MVC2/3 gameplay mechanics out the window is what is worrying me.

fuck if this new marvel is 2 vs 2 only and capcom want to separate it from umvc3 then at the very least release a damn patch for umvc3 capcom.

I'll give it a fair shake, but it does look a lot like Street Fighter X Tekken with how the chain combos and tag mechanics looked. You do a chain combo and your partner runs in to continue in the same way, only there's air combos now.

I liked SFxT at least, so I'm sure I'll have fun with it. Just not what I was expecting so I can't say I'm not disappointed there. Doesn't really look anything like TvC or the other VS games from the small snippet.

That's a good writeup.

They have basically made this game with the precept that it must be approachable by casuals. That's why there are only two-character teams and no assists. Keeping it simple. They wouldn't even commit to confirming a 6-button layout, said they want this game to be just as playable a controller.

Well, there it is. That's an interesting strategy. :P
