Wayô Records announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for “Across the Kosmos: Xenosaga Piano Collection,” commemorating the 22nd anniversary of Yasunori Mitsuda’s seminal composition for Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht. Building on the success of their previous campaign for “Across the Worlds: Chrono Cross Piano Collection,” Wayô Records collaborates with Mitsuda’s Procyon Studio for arrangements, showcasing performances by celebrated pianist Benyamin Nuss. In addition to the piano collection, the campaign offers fans worldwide a second edition of the original soundtrack, initially exclusive to Japan in 2004.

The fundraising goal is set at 30,000 EUR to produce the collection in digital, CD, and vinyl formats, alongside a sheet music book and a special edition music box playing “Kokoro,” the enchanting ending theme. Reward tiers range from 15 EUR to 900 EUR, featuring various physical items, including hand-signed editions and the unique opportunity for backers to contribute personal commentary for the album booklet. Stretch goals aim to enrich the album with an extra battle suite, a new set of jazz arrangements, and Dolby Atmos surround sound mastering. “Across the Kosmos: Xenosaga Piano Collection” is now seeking backers on Kickstarter.

“Xenosaga Episode I had a profound impact on the history of JRPGs, and there’s no doubt that Yasunori Mitsuda’s soundtrack contributed to making it an unforgettable project 22 years after its release,” comments Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis. “It is therefore with immense pride that we launch this ambitious Xenosaga arranged album project, in the continuity of our previous works, involving top-level artists and under official license from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. We’re counting on the indispensable support of everyone to make this new dream come true!”
