Username checks out, lol.
In all seriousness, get well soon. Maybe get yourself a new game (or pick something from the backlog) to play with all the downtime you're gonna have.

Were you wearing stilettos?
Metal AF
You're never getting through airport security without a strip search ever again tho...

Did you watch that knight rider reboot in 2008? did you like it?
Surgery isn't bad, it's the rehab that sucks. Stick with it though, it really makes a difference. You can come out of this stronger than where you were when you started this journey.
Source: tore 3 out of the 4 knee ligaments in one go. At the end of it all, I was in incredible shape.
Nah, That's just a flesh wound.
If it makes you feel any better, I broke my toe at the same time. And I have an event tomorrow where I'll have to walk 30k+ steps per day for a whole week.
been there brother. Broken ankle is no joke, and the surgery / recovery sucks.
Do your physical therapy. Seriously. Don't skimp on it.
I did not watch that! Should I have? Would that have prevented this from ever happening?
Never broke anything - thanks God, but I got injured muscles from time to time, and they're a bitch. I imagine that bones are even worse
Get well
It's really frustrating how small choices can have such consequences. I had a timer above my stove rack which fell down whilst I was holding my saucepan with boiling water and reflexively I tried to grab it. Of course the scalding water hit my leg and I had to deal with a pus wound for weeks during the summer.Yes, I was drunk. Yes, I had bad shoes for the weather. Yes, I'm a dumbass. But one bad slip, and next thing you know you're looking at surgery (which I haven't had yet, hopefully tomorrow), 6 weeks of jumping on one leg with the other in a cast, and a lot longer than that to fully recover.
I've never broken anything before, there's a first time for everything I guess. It sucks. Lying in a hospital bed is boring as hell. And it makes me feel old, lol. Like, who the hell slips and breaks their ankle in three places?
The only broken bone I've had in my 51 years on this earth was my leg, when I was about 10 years old. My cousin was doing a wheelie on his dirt bike on the sidewalk in the Bronx, and I happened to step out the front gate at exactly the wrong moment. All I remember is the loud sound of the bike and then waking up in the hospital with a cast covering my entire right leg with metal parts protruding. I didn't feel any pain at all, just constant itching behind my knee that I couldn't reach. I still have a scar on the front side just above my knee where my aunt told me my bone was sticking out of my leg.
Edit: I later learned how deeply my cousin felt about what happened when, less than two years later, a bully about ten years older than me sweep-kicked me in front of my apartment on East 217th Street. My cousin rolled up in his Trans Am, pulled onto the sidewalk, and asked who did it. I pointed the guy out, and he proceeded to beat the living daylights out of him. He was always over-the-top protective of me, but that day I finally understood why. When I told him he didn't have to go that far, he said he felt he owed it to me for what happened.

There should be some kind of red alert in the air which says: "QTE starting. Prepare to avoid danger"
Wow, the brain/body is amazing. It basically completely shielded you from s traumatic event. All I remember is the loud sound of the bike and then waking up in the hospital with a cast covering my entire right leg with metal parts protruding. Do you ever feel bad about traumatizing your aunt? The day I see someone's bone poking out I'll demand morphine to calm down my nerves.I still have a scar on the front side just above my knee where my aunt told me my bone was sticking out of my leg.
Bro is a real bro! Also a real badass.Edit: I later learned how deeply my cousin felt about what happened when, less than two years later, a bully about ten years older than me sweep-kicked me in front of my apartment on East 217th Street. Damn, how long were you "disabled" from that? Fully recovered now? I thankfully didn't have any bones break the skin.
I never really thought about apologizing, but I do treat her well. My cousin, on the other hand, yeah, he definitely caught a lot of smoke (He passed away about 10 years ago sadly).Do you ever feel bad about traumatizing your aunt?
It's pretty vague now, so I'll have to confirm with my mother, but from what I remember it happened during the summer while school was out. The initial cast and recasting lasted into winter, and by the time the snow was gone I was starting to be outside again with limited mobility. By spring break, I was pretty much dicking around on my own again.
Edit: I also remember classmates and friends giving me the nickname Nigga Tim (Tiny Tim from the Christmas movie). Fun times. Everyone basically treated me like comedic relief because I still didn't take nonsense from any of them.
Edit: Oh and I also remember laughing like crazy when they took the metal out, and then waking up with the pins gone. I missed them because they made my injury look extra cool, like a Iron Man armored leg or some shit.
