Didn't he also do the other two FF13 games?Only really known for FF13 and the FF7R trilogies. So dumpster fire.
That resonance game is as close to what you're asking for as you'll get.Should they just let a random new director take the lead on the next one ? Someone with passion that can understand why the oldschool FF created so many fans in the first place.
Maybe just let FF17 be the game to "go back to the roots" and then they can do whatever they want to "attract modern audiences" in FF18 - I just don't think I have much more life left in me to wait for like FFXX to be the one to implement turn base combat again
WrongMy guess is they'll try to copy Expedition 33. Turn-based with real-time dodge/parry and a somber tone
I understand they won't right now, but overtime when IPs start to lose momentum (some might argue FF could be on that spot) there is always this "reset" that companies usually do to rekindle the flame of the lost fans. I am just hoping that doesn't happen like 20 years from now. That resonance game is as close to what you're asking for as you'll get.
I don't see them pivoting away from action. They'll just do FF7 redo combat with some tweaks for FF17 I bet.
According to google FF13-2 (the one I really like) was Motomu Toriyama as director, and Yoshinori Kitase as producer, Shinji Hashimoto as executive producer.Didn't he also do the other two FF13 games?
Like I said an advisor role works. Even FF13 has cool world building, visuals, and combat.
He just blows ass at other major aspects like:
-Pacing
-Side quests and content
-Atmosphere
-Dialogue
Yes I realize others are working on these games with and under him, but he's green lighting some horrendous shit.
The issue is the FF7 redo games have done well for SE so they'll let it rock.
Both trilogies.Didn't he also do the other two FF13 games?
It'd be really cool if it were Motomu Toriyama
Only really known for FF13 and the FF7R trilogies. So dumpster fire.
Lightning is literally just genderbent Cloud without the depth of character backstory and iconic visual design.I hope not, I really don't want a repeat of Feminazi Lightning lol

Dude quit 2/3 through FFXII's development due to immense stress. Don't think he has it in him to direct another mainline Final Fantasy title.Would prefer Matsuno IMO.
Hiroyuki Ito....Hamaguchi is a newbie director but since he's co-directing the remake of such an important game, i wouldn't see this as a surprise.
What are the options within SE?
The other FF7-2 directors:
Tetsuya Nomura is making KH4. He's both a genius and chaos.
Toriyama directed X-2 and FF13 trilogy before... lol
The "FF14 team" made a spin-off called FF16...
They could revive Matsuno or beg Sakaguchi to make a final Final Fantasy but the probability of that to happen is very low.
I had no idea he was still working thereHiroyuki Ito....
"Hurry, someone made an post about FF, I have to go and talk about Expedition 33."My guess is they'll try to copy Expedition 33. Turn-based with real-time dodge/parry and a somber tone. Then they'll gay it up with tons of retarded sidequests and cringe anime dialog.
Welp ... time to wait for FF18 I guess.. clueless SE remains cluelessBoth trilogies.
His career is as follows
FF12 - Visual effects: Real-time rendering
FF13 - Lead cutscene programmer, Crystal Tools development staff
FF13-2 - Lead Application Programmer
FF13LR - Main Programmer
FF14 - Client Programmer
Mobius Final Fantasy - Project Leader
FFVIIR - Co-director
FFVII First Soldier - Supervisory Support
FFVII Rebirth - Director
FFVII Revelation - Director
Would prefer Matsuno IMO.
Final Fantasy is anime. My guess is they'll try to copy Expedition 33. Turn-based with real-time dodge/parry and a somber tone. Then they'll gay it up with tons of retarded sidequests and cringe anime dialog.
Technically, Yoshi-P didn't direct FF16. He was the producer and Hiroshi Takai and Kazutoyo Maehiro were the directors. I think his team had too much on their plate trying to finish Endwalker and pump out FF16 at the same time. Creative Studio 3 seems pretty solid otherwise.I'm not against Hamaguchi, but I could be very down with Yoko Taro.
I actaully think Toriyama is great too.
Just keep it away from Yoshi-P, please.
That is who we're talking about. Hamaguchi is the director of FF7 Rebirth. his team, Creative Business Unit 1, is the main Final Fantasy team. Also used to be the main Kingdom Hearts team, but their plate got too full, so KH is stuck with Osaka team since Birth by Sleep.I would like to see the ff7 remake team. Stay together and make a new game. If it another ff title im down. Rebirth sold me on that team
XVI was trash, so no.i rly wish Naoki Yoshida is in some form involved too at least as a producer or creative director role! and please let soken be the composer. CU3 is my fav dev team in SE since Sakaguchi days can't stand anymore the combo Kitase/Nomura and their sons (=hamaguchi) :_ too much anime crap and it seems they never really catch the soul of older ffs (which ff14 does perfectly and somehow ff16 did too even with all its shortcomings)
