I am pretty sure everyone will get an invite. They are just using the idea of “scarcity” to market the game

I am sure that the build is the newest stable build they have. They will have a branch and only integrate fixes, but it won't be months old, it will be pretty recent, otherwise it would not make much sense for them to test that.

Game looked rough and seemed like it was chugging in the livestream.

But i'm going to assume it's because of the livestream because it makes zero sense a Halo game would suffer fps issues.
