Giant Bomb just did a PAX panel and announced at the end the resurrection of one of their much loved video features, the Endurance Run, where they play through the entirety of a game day after day until it's done.

The last Endurance Run ended in 2012, when Ryan and Patrick played through Chrono Trigger.

Most people will know the format from Jeff and Vinny's famous playthrough of Persona 4.

Not only is it back, but they're playing Shenmue and Part 1 is live as part of the surprise announcement.

I thought this would be of interest to folks outside of the Giant Bomb community thread and to people who haven't seen the entirety of the game and are interested in the wake of the Shenmue 3 kerfuffle.

It's Vinny Caravella, Alex Navarro and Dan Ryckert at the helm. No premium membership required.

Endurance Runs have never been premium so it's not that odd here. But yeah, their premium content has been dry.

Good news on the new Endurance run. Can't wait to see the footage. I feel like Dan complimented Jeff's crazy ideas more than other west staff members and helped Drew with features, but at the same time he did great on gbeast's videos and podcasts, so I'm conflicted.

If Danny from GameSpot ends up in West that would balance things out again, and he could be Brad and Drew's new co-pilot on features. Remember guys that Ryckert gave us the amazing MGScanlon and Hitbrad series, which I'm not sure would have existed without his zaniness.

Endurance Run was never a premium feature and Jeff said only new features would be premium.

Shenmue is a good game for this sort of format, since it's an easy game to mess around in as you stumble through town trying to find the next plot person to talk to.
