IGN will give it a 9.8 at least.
Halo recieved a 9.7 and this is far and above a better game than Halo.
It deserves a relatively better score.
That said, Halo did many revolutionary things at the time that Halo 3 isn't technically doing now, so who knows.
But still, it's a lock :lol

Hahaha, this is fucking incredible...I do not know what too say anymore...:lol YOU DO NOT GET A-POINTS for finsihing the levels on easy..as simple as that. I finished the game on EEEAAASSSSYYYY...restrated yesterday at HEROIC...how difficult can this be?
I havent finshed the first level yet...but I can clearly notice a difference in difficulty and so on. Ok...so add me to you freindslist..and youll see. THis is getting beyond ridiculous. :lol

Ok here you go...ask specific questions..a lot easier that way.
OK here goes, you start off at Earth, you fell like a meteor and impact in Africa. Our dearest sgt johnosson is there to wake you up. As well as the arbiter. THe first thing you will notice is the blockiness of you character and the mixed bag of texture used. In the absolutely first sequence you have a pod in a pool of water..in the middel of the scene..the water has this fake yellowy tint...and I found the hdr effective although a bit overdone. The level of detail texture are still in, but from far the texture and the geomatry varies qiute a bit. With notciable pop in in the later levels.
The first level is pretty straight forward A-B stuff, nothing really surprising. The only new idea in the first level is the implementation of various things you do with the x-button. The bubble shiled we know, but you have auto-turrets, invisble cloaking device, invicebility and so on. Really usefull if you soup up the difficulty a bit. AI is good, the dogde grenades, move in smaller groups..flanking is quite common. As i said, on HIGHER difficulty levels.
As you progress the use of vehicles becomes more or less a must. I found the controll responsiveness a bit tighter then before. Mongouse is one of the new vehicles, but there are a few new covenant ones as well. And a new flying vehicle...i cannot recall the names.
The flood is back, and irritating as ever. This is what i meant with traditional halo mechanics, first 4 levels A-B with vehicles and whatnot...enter the flood...fly of to another Halo...enter massive flood hordes..make a run for it at the end just like you did in halo.
The game is highly enjoyable, I havent tried the online part yet...I bet it will be ace.

I can understand somebody is not impressed with Halo 3 graphics and lighting. It's their opinion. Troll or not, doesn't matter. But calling it Halo 2 HD is like saying that I'm blind.

Wasn't "Halo 3 is just Halo 2 in HD" a ban-worthy offense? Its so obviously wrong as to be instantly trollish.
I think the graphics looks okej, its not the best this generation and not the worst. I love their clouds and bungies lightning is very good. The draw distance is also very good. What I dont like is some of the low res textures and that the engine seemes to missing shadows all over the place. Other than that its an 8/10 in the graphics.

The main issue I have is with textures and aliasing, a lot of environmental textures are quite poor and there are a lot of jaggies. They're not noticeable when you're moving because of the motion blur but when you're standing still and looking at things they're quite bad.
All in all it's still a very pretty game, and the density of ennemies / vehicules is something I hadn't seen on the 360 yet.
