No way. If this isn't treated as a golden child by the overwhelming majority of at least US review sources, I'll eat a hat or something. At the very least, a 10/10 from 1up is all but guaranteed, and I wouldn't be surprised if IGN gave it a similar score.

I'm particularly fond of the episode in Halo lore where a bunch of Spartans and Elites had an epic battle over who could stand inside a glowing, translucent ring the longest. And that one time they fought over a flag for years on end. So many brave souls lost for that sucker.

Oh the great King of the Hill battle of 2001. So many lost in such a short time. This is why Halo sells though. What human could possibly allow those ass holes to hold a flag for that amount of time?

Well, I just finished the game and I can confirm that the game indeed looks like a HD version of Halo 2. THe playing mechanics are great, but the graphics just isnt. A bit higher rez textures, low poly models, lack of AF, lack of proper AA and the list goes on.

Hey, as far as I know, it might deserve to be treated like a golden child. Hopefully I'll get to see for myself next week, assuming I can procure a 360 by then. All of the good reviews in the world can not make anyone give two shits if this game is just not their thing.
Not really sure where the crow eating comes in.
To Halo fans I have no doubts that there is not one thing that they could find disappointing about it, and they will love it for it is a great game.
To those who aren't into it, I do not see any sleep lost.
Halo 3 will make mad bank, it will make millions lose sleep on a daily basis, and will sell much side merchandise...but I will also confess that it does not exactly revolutionize the genre.
Mad props to Bungie though for the interactivity and the marketing.

Look, there are some new ideas. Some well implemented but to be completely honest, this follows the wellknown Halo formula. Some love it some hate it. I think its a lot better then Halo 2...but i did not find it as good as the first one.

I rushed it thru on easy, just to see the locations...and there isnt anything really groundbreaking. But I cannot recommend easy. Heroic gives a good challenge and is highly rewarding.

My favorit level was the silent cartographer in Halo, the is a level with a distinct similarity.
