Godfather to the PSP? I hadn't heard that before.... and I guess E3 will be the first showing of the PSP version of Madden?

Weird that Madden 06 isn't down as for "a next generation console" but others are..

Also, I hope that "next gen lab" features actual game footage, and not prerendered hocus pocus ala the Madden ad.

Damnit, I was hoping Black would be playable. It's been so long since we've heard anything about it.

They have a "Next Gen Lab" for showing off next-generation games, but some will also be in their general booth (at least that's my reading of it). I would have thought next gen stuff coming "soon" (aka X360 launch stuff) would be in the booth, and more longer term stuff would be in the "Next Gen Lab". It's odd they'd seperate it like that though.

I also still find it odd that they explicitly mention the others as coming to "a next generation console", but not Madden.

Madden will most assuredly be there. They were there for the fuckin DS launch and they got to recoup what they spent on the NFL deal. Multiplatform is where this will be.

As far as I can tell, both Godfather and Need for Speed were already announced for next-gen consoles... maybe EA & MS want to make a big splash with Madden et al announcements at E3?

Or maybe they are giving 360 token support at launch? :lol

I was thinking this..but then they've already had an ad out about it, so it wouldn't exactly be a big surprise. It doesn't make much sense to advertise it on TV and then shy away from mentioning it in a press release (especially when you're explicitly mentioning others) :lol

That said, I think it highly unlikely it won't be at X360's launch..but this is strange.

We'll see. It really should show up tomorrow night but I doubt it.

This was my first "WTF?" thought with Madden - it not being at the MTV party. Of course, it could be edited into the final show, but there doesn't seem to be much reason why it wouldn't be at the party. If Madden is at launch for X360, or in the nearterm pipe for it, and it's NOT on that show tomorrow, it'd be a massively missed opportunity. So much so that if it's not there, I'd begin to more seriously wonder if something is up with Madden.

but madden was only rendered footage in the ad, and E3 isn't far away now.

I think the next gen floor stuff will be all video footage, nothing playable - probably ties in with Xbox 360 not being final enough to be playable on the floor.

then the 'next gen lab' (invitation only) is for press to see actual works in progress.

Time to dig up that Madden 360 thread where I kept saying there's no proof it's an Xbox 360 game.

Madden next gen will debut as a PS3 launch title.

There should be plenty of playable X360 games on the showfloor from other third parties. The current state of the hardware shouldn't be a reason why EA X360 games wouldn't be playable.

no need to dig it up. EA have been very careful to say its just for a next generation platform. It is interesting in comparison to other companies who have said 'next generation xbox'.

Very unlikely to be PS3 exclusive, but it would be fantastic just for the melodrama :)

We shouldn't even be having this conversation, Madden hasn't missed a launch title for a system in the fall yet(that I can think of), if X360 launches this fall(as we expect it to) Madden will be there.

Doesn't count EA had pretty much let know beforehand that they weren't supporting the DC.

Unlike EA/MS which made a big show of their splash on to XBL this generation.

It's simply EA being coy. The other games that are listed as Next-Gen are the Godfather and NFS: Most Wanted, which could be 2005 or 2006. So they aren't "giving away" what everyone knows anyway, that Xbox360 will be out this year. But it isn't announced yet, so if they listed Madden 2006 as Next-Gen, then they would be essentially announcing that a new system was out this year as Madden 2006 HAS TO BE RELEASED in 2005. Otherwise, it would be Madden 2007 if released in 2006.

You should have heard them in the earnings conference call. They worded everything to avoid confirming Xbox360 was being released this year and they said it was Microsoft's announcement to make, not theirs.

I think it's a lock,I very seriously doubt they would have even showed the Next Gen teaser trailer if they didn't intend on launching it this year.

Makes sense.

I'm a (semi) believer :).

Steve at Operation Sports (Owner of OS) says he's heard Madden 360 will be on MTV tomorrow. So I guess they did just edit Madden into the show.

What's funny is that EA took down all that stuff on their website :lol

I'm sure they learned from that mistake and will actually show the game, and not some artistic render they had completed since September 2004.

And considering that guy that posts here (the one that works for EA) was talking about how great madden looks and basically hinted that it's almost complete, I highly doubt EA would sit on it for a year just to have it exclusive to PS3.

It's coming this year, it's coming for Xbox 360. The sooner you fanboys get that through your head, the less owned you will be in the next few days.

Welcome beautful toddler, Madison Elizabeth, to the horde!
I don't think they would have had that commercial during the Draft if they weren't going to have it released this year.
