Both times Nintendo launched a cross-gen Zelda game alongside their new console (Wii and Switch) they started with strong sales. Switch will be 6 years old in march 2023, and that's probably when they'll release a new console. Here's why:
I'm guessing leakers got confused with Switch 2/Switch Oled and that's why there were rumors for DLSS and an OLED screen on the same device. Nintendo must have been developing both at the same time and they just assumed all the info was about Switch OLED. Since many sources said Nintendo were asking developers to make their games 4K ready and some time ago Nvidia also posted a job listing for someone to work on DLSS for game consoles I believe Switch 2 development must be pretty advanced at this point, thus making it likely to be released in 2023. That's also enough time to see Switch sales plateau and the right time to release a new version.
Okay, now back to Zelda:
I think they will use the same strategy they used with Wii and Switch and release BotW 2 alongside Switch 2.
What do you think?
