Let it out, we will not judge you beyond what is funny

I'll start:
Over the years, I have spent a combined 200 hours across 5 roguelites (Enter the gungeon, Spelunky 1&2, FTL and Risk of Rain 2) without beating any of them even once.
Reached their end fights several times but then something comes up irl and I lose the flow state

In my opinion, there is no purer form of gameplay than those 5 games (and the genre as a whole really)

I spent more time modding elder scroll oblivion than playing it. Over 50 gbs of mods, including a lot of story content. Then i didn't even touch most of the mod content in my playthrough, but had a difficult time beating it because the mods added insannely tough enemies that didn't even make sense within the setting. All to end up in a highly disappointing main story ending that wasn't half as epic as the mods I installed.

The last time i fully beat or completed a Japanese RPG was 20 years ago. I think it was Evolution 2 for the Dreamcast. However i have completed quite a few Western RPGs since then.

I keep hearing this happen with a lot with bethesda games. Heavily moddable to the point playing it cannot match with the expectations of all those mods working together.

Closest I've gotten to modding absurdity was something like 50 mods for l4d2

I use Rocket League as a tool to take out aggression on others. Sometimes it's just going on demo sprees on other teams that irked me, other times it's countless self-goals on teammates just to spite them. I am not a Grand Champion, and I never will be... but many of these people I play with feel like they should have never ranked past Silver.

Now I have played through the Dead Space remake, I feel I have none.
(To me, that was my last shameful thing - having never played through Dead Space)

How do you get into something like modding? Always wondered

I think ocarina of time is a fucking boring chore to play, easily my least favorite zelda. Ive made several attempts to play it on the n64, wii u vc, gamecube, and most recently the 3ds. I always make it to about the shadow temple before i burn out.

Nothing shameful here but.....
  1. I always play on the easiest available difficulty. I don't care about "the challenge" or "sense of pride and accomplishment". Fuck that. I have other difficult things going on in life. I play video games as a hobby, to relax. I want to coast through the game feeling like a fucking god. I want a power fantasy, not a challenge. That's what i enjoy. And on PC, if available i will use trainers and/or mods to make the combat/grind of the game even easier. I like to experience the story, the atmosphere, the world, the graphics, the performances. And hence i have never played difficult roguelike or soulslike games. I understand there is a specific set of people who enjoy the difficulty of such games. It is just not for me.
  2. For some games like Skyrim, Witcher 3, RDR2, GTA5, Sims 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and a few more, modding the game up to its figurative eyeballs while still keeping it playable holds as much enjoyment as actually playing the game.
  3. I used to like sprawling open open worlds with lots of map markers scattered around the map. In most cases i still do. If it is well done it is very enjoyable. Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are fine games. Just because Ubisoft chose to copy paste the same shit a dozen times, doesn't invalidate the games that are good examples of the formula.
  4. I also like linear "ghost train rides" where the "gameplay" part of a linear game is just combat-explore-combat-explore till you come to a cutscene which moves the story forward. I don't care that i dont have any real agency as the player. I dont want any. Sometimes i just want to come along for the fun ride. I don't care about "ludonarrative dissonance". If a ghost train ride is fun, then all hail the ghost train. Uncharted 4 is an amazing experience, even if you call it a 20 hour cutscene. Not every game has to have genius mechanics which weave around and integrate with the story and give the player meaningful choice. Every game cannot be like that.
  5. I fucking hate it every time an adaptation of a game to a TV Show/Movie is announced. Fuck off Hollywood. Come up with your own ideas. No adaptation, no matter how good (yes, including the Last of Us show), will ever be as good as the game. If an IP was made as a game first, then the game is the superior medium of experiencing that world/story.

Its usually just downloading a free mod support software and then installing all the mods from a site like nexus mods. In oblivion, the software lists all the mods you have currently installed and shows if there are any conflicts between any mods you installed.

I play on easy mode and still use guides. I'll always try my best to go through a game on my own but if I struggle then difficulty is getting turned down and or I'll check a guide so I don't need to waste time being stuck.

It took me 15 years to complete my all time favourite game Final Fantasy VII all the way through in one single setting, due to corrupted memory cards, scratched discs and getting stuck having to obtain the key to the ancients. My first experience seeing the end of the game was having to use a game cheat cartridge.

I started Fire Emblem Engage at highest difficult for the first time in the series (usually play on normal) and then I grinded my characters so much that was basically like playing on normal, but I wasted a lot more hours.

I shouted like a madman and slammed a stool violently to the ground several times, after I was dead, killed by an Elden Ring Boss, when he had a millimeter left of his life bar. I kept shouting, cursing blasphemies of all kinds, which hadn't happened for a couple of decades...at least, not at that level :D

I cheesed a lot of Sekiro's bosses (and I'm convinced they're designed that way).
I didn't complete Sekiro, stopped at last boss after 2-3 tries I had enough.
My keyboard (still has) broken keys since I repeatedly punched it when playing Quake 2 multiplayer.
EDIT for my biggest, real shame: I use walkthroughs for P&C games more than I want to admit.

I am a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, I sat down and started playing the third part 6-7 times already, I reach about the middle and constantly quit, after some time I sit down again and quit again ... it has already become a tradition ...

Don't particularly like Mario games. The platforming feels slippery and the universe, while solid, is pretty dull.

Back when I was playing Ragnarok Online semi-seriously, I went afk during an important guild battle for a bathroom break, without saying anything. I was playing as a devotion/gospel paladin, so pure support; not only didn't anyone realize I left, but I even got praised for how well I supported the guild after the battle. I always felt pretty bad about it. :(

1. I always make my female characters have massive tits where possible.

2. Even with a 7900xt PC, I still prefer PS5 because I’m addicted to trophies. On PC, if the game has no xbox/pc achievements, then its not even considered.

3. I struggle playing games outside of AAA titles. No idea why.

4. I double dip games WAYYY too much.

The only one I can think of is that if there is a character creator I will spend a long time making my character as sexy as I can.

My ‘stable’ of Elden Ring and DS3 save files is fucking embarrassing, to be honest. It’s like the front page of pornhub.

Also my Cyberpunk character is a one way ticket to horny jail for life.

Any FPS game new or old I always play on hardest difficulty possible.

I got 100% of trophies (including DLC) on Overwatch, Evolve and Battleborn on my old PSN account that I have retired.

I believe that Zelda is overly overrated.

I believe that Skyrim is overly overrated and has really shitty combat.

I beaten every boss in God of War Ragnarok on Give Me God of War without getting hit. (I have recordings of all bosses on my external drive)

Sekiro is my least favorite From Software game, I've also never beaten in it.

I believe that Dark Souls 1 deserves a proper remake similar to the Demon's Souls on PS5.

Aliens Fireteam Elite is an underrated game and was one of my favorite games of whatever year it was released in.

My very first Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy X and it was amazing.

When I was a wee lad age of 17, I had sex with my girlfriend who was the age of 18 while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer and owning noobs.

In games where you pick up gear I'll equip something that looks cool over something that looks shit but has better stats

If there's an opening cutscene that's unskippable I'm either quitting the game or leaving until it's finished - Gran Turismo 7 really tested my fuckin patience

I hate space/sci-fi themes. If I see the inside of a spaceship or there's a shot of something floating in space I'm clocking out
