BlizzCon 2019 begins on Friday, and after the last year Blizzard is expected to announce at least four new projects:

WoW Expansion (Possibly Shadowlands)
Overwatch 2
Diablo 4
Diablo 2 Remaster?

Schedule.

There are four secret panels after the opening ceremony, which will be for the new announcements:

Diablo 2 Remastered and Overwatch 2 with story stuff would make me give a shit. Also, where the hell is Warcraft 3 Remake?

Anyone know what the protesters are planning? Are they just going to be kept outside while Blizzard talks about mobile games and cancels the Q&A sessions.

Can't wait to see the gamers who 'protest' by uninstalling Battle.net suddenly forget everything once the words Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 appear on screen.

Pretty much. There will probably be a handful of hecklers that get quietly thrown out during conferences but I expect the "drama" to be kept to a minimum.

I don't think D4 or OW2 will be enough to satiate the angry masses. IMHO though I think Blizzard knows that which is why I suspect they have some sort of megaton announcement, WoW2, something like that.

I hope Diablo 4 will be more complex than 3 and darker, although i've never had problems with Diablo 3 Artstyle.

interested in watching again this year, but i'll be at work so i'll just look for a replay on youtube.

whatever news - good or bad, it is always nice to hear about new stuff in the gaming industry.

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
All I care about tbh is nostalgic blizzard, as in wow classic and D2 remastered. New Blizzard has killed any soul left in their projects.

Have zero hype for new entries in the Diablo franchise after Diablo 3

Overwatch 2 is a disappointment for me. That would mean they are leaving OG OW to die...
Word is that OW2 is simply a PvE expansion. They're not going to leave OG OW to die, they have a league with >$20 million franchise fees ffs.

If they pull a fortnite with a Chapter 2 kinda thing, I would love it.

As someone who dropped off prior to Doomfist, that would be just the ticket to get me to take another look at the game. I always thought framing the character abilities around specific SP/PvE content and directly showing the backstory / universe would be great.

As much as I support people speaking out on Hong Kong (including on esports streams), I really hope this doesn't devolve into people shouting "free Hong Kong" while Blizzard tries to unveil things. It's not really going to advance the cause.

With that said, I think most people attending aren't going to risk getting kicked out after paying that much to attend, even if you paid a long time ago and feel like Blizzard took the rug out from under you.

Gods, do I hope that it does EVOLVE into people shouting out, en mass "Free Hong Kong!"

Getting kicked out of a fascist company's group-think mind-washing session, would be poetic irony.

There ought to be tee-shirts given out by free-thinkers outside of the event, to those who are kicked out, with the slogan:

"I survived the Facist Orcs' Purge of Blizzcon 2019!!"

Really? Fascist?

Yes, Blizzard's decision is problematic; yes, it shouldn't ban players simply for voicing their opinions; but it's not some jackbooted, tyrannical regime keeping people down. It's a company that got nervous about losing business in China. There are people living under actual tyranny who would kick your ass for trivializing the term.

Because doing that while while they are unveiling things will stop from releasing them or ever advertising them again?
I fail to see the logic in your comment.

It's fine to oppose Blizzard, but there's such a thing as picking your battles. Shouting "free Hong Kong" at BlizzCon isn't going to make Blizzard change its mind. It's an event under Blizzard's complete control; it's just going to have security escort you out, carry on as if nothing happened, and edit you out of any clips. At best, you get some news stories about Blizzard kicking out protesters, but Blizzard won't be worried since it had the authority to boot people disrupting its event.

If you want to do something meaningful, boycott Blizzard games and encourage friends to do the same. But protesting at BlizzCon strikes me as incredibly short-sighted and more disruptive to attendees than to the company.

But having those disruptions will get Blizzard in trouble if they live stream the event to China or force them to edit it in archive videos, and making it a bad experience for other attendees will have be bad for blizzard image too. I have no doubt that most media there will be more focused on these disruptions and the China connection than in whatever mobile game blizzard shows this year, they will get a lot more clicks from chaos than from 2 or 3 game trailers.

I usually get the virutal ticket. Haven't in a few years. The in game items aren't getting better and the pricing keeps increasing. I'll just do what I usually do and watch the opening ceremony then watch the rest on youtube.
