Best Credits Themes in Games?

ctrl+f Double Dra- oh COME ON people.

Double Dragon Neon credits ft. the best justification for the existence of achivements/trophies ever.
This x1000000.

Pretty much all of Metal Gear's are classic.

I don't enjoy the song that much but I have a soft spot for "Late Goodbye" by Poets of the Fall knowing it was based on a poem written by Sam Lake. Health's "Tears" is the superior Max Payne lyrical but I associate it with its gameplay segment more than I do the end credits.

god hand has an beautiful song that really encapsulates the journey you went through

While undoubtedly one of the high points of this medium, I don't think people should be allowed to simply listen to the end credits. I first heard it after finally getting through the game after an extended play session, and having it hit my delirious, sleep-deprived ears at 3am was a thing of wonder. You have the earn these credits.

Best: Tekken 3. Put that PS1 disc in your CD player, crank it up, and break the knob off.

Worst: That Korn song from Silent Hill Downpour. A hilariously bad song for an outrageously bad game.

I think most of my favorites have been mentioned here (which mean you guys have a great taste, heh).

The Last of Us (The Path - A New Beginning), ICO (You Were There), Metal Gear Solid (The Best is Yet to Come) and Persona 3 (Memories of You).

Special mention to "Way to Fall" from MGS3, even though it is not an original song, it fits so, so well!

My absolute favorite would be The Path from TLOU. When the guitar started in that final cutscene and then it cut to black and started for real... damn. It was simply perfect.

I really liked Dragon Age: Origin's end credits song, This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars. Really complimented the ending of the game, building upon what it was. Not best, but it is up there.

I think everything else I'd dare to mention has already been brought up.
Edit: OoT ending credits are amazing. I didn't notice it in the OP and rushed back here to add it to this post, lol.
Tales from the Borderlands was pretty great

Fantastic art and music

This gets my vote. It felt so perfect.

FYI for anyone wondering, the song is My Silver Lining by First Aid Kit. It is top to bottom brilliance.

I have no idea why, but the Ratchet and Clank Future games (sans Booty/Nexus) end with downhearted, sad-but-kind-of-happy, disco-techno-crossover songs, and they fit the endings perfectly somehow.

Tools of Destruction:

This plays on the credits right after a devastating cliffhanger
where you have no idea where Clank is.

Crack in Time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3hnxHTJ1cw
Plays right after Ratchet's new mentor Allister Azimuth
turns heel briefly in delusion in attempt to save his race. He kills Ratchet (temporarily -- TIME TRAVEL) and tries to take the Great Clock back in time to "fix history" but Ratchet stops him, and he realizes the error of his ways, and then he dies stopping the Clock from going back.

Super Mario World
Super Mario 64
Super Mario Galaxy
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Okami

The best, no question.

Of course I like all these classics.

Xenosaga 3 - Hepatica 3 - I Believe In You, Maybe Tomorrow (the soundtrack has them split, while the ending has them combined)
Undertale's credits theme is also a very good one that hasn't already been mentioned. So many cool variations on the themes you hear throughout the game.

To add my own
Metroid Credits Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFUGG6SFiQQ
I've seen all the other Metroids mentioned but Hip Tanaka really hit it out of the park with the original's credits theme.

while it's true that it is wonders on your ears after beating the game, i think this was to good of a piece of music to just let others in this tread ignore.
