I can't remember the exact quote but when Kate's on the phone getting people to retrieve some files she says something like 'They may be listed as being from the 70s or the 80s'.
Aha, that's pretty cool.

That's awesome who they got to participate in the Five(ish) Doctors.
Jackson and McKellan
BUT NO, ECCLESTON CAN'T BE TROUBLED!
You're overthinking it a bit. It was just a plot device to let him make a cameo as the doctor that made sense.
Forgot to ask this earlier, but is it imperative I watch all of s7 before watching the 50th anniversary?

Yes, yes quite. Although, I wouldn't put it past Moffat doing this is such a way where this could be an outcome. If it was just meant to be a cameo, he could have made it less ambiguous quite easily.

Even if that did count, and I don't think it does because he didn't fully regenerate, that Doctor couldn't appear because he's in Pete's World. He has no TARDIS, or doesn't have one yet (there was a scene cut from Journey's End where Ten scrapes off a bit of his TARDIS and tells Meta-Ten to grow his own). So he has no means of escaping Pete's World.
Short behind the scenes on the 50th

Anyone got the screencap of all twelve doctors at the end?
best i can do for now
I hated that bit. It was an awesome shot and idea and should've been great but they mostly looked like wax work figures. I was shocked to find out they (the non 50th Doctors) were actors. Looked so bad having the faces just pasted on.
So when is the Christmas special?
So when is the Christmas special?
So I'm watching the End of Time.
Are we all in agreement that Wilf is the best one-off companion?

It kinda makes me wish I will be around for the 100th Anniversary of Dr Who though I get the feeling me living to be 93 might be a tall order![]()

Just watched the "Five(ish) Doctors" it really was very well done and just now watched that 13 min making of doctor who again another well done piece of entertainment.
Certainly in my book they knocked it out of the park with everything they have done from the Drama Documentary about Dr Who in the 60's right up to the 50th Anniversary episode.

Loved the special, but it raises some interesting questions for how they approach things should Gallifrey return to the universe. Ten told the Master that he had to kill them all because of how corrupt and brutal they had become, namely as bad as the Daleks. Presumably as things now stand, lunatic Rassilon is still there along with the Doctor's purported mother and whoever else. It would be interesting to see how the universe reacts to the Time Lords' return, and what direction their society goes. I mean, the Daleks still exist in great number, won't the war start again at some point?

The more I think about it the more naffed off I am Eccleston wouldn't even do a day. How much more complete the story could be if we saw that regeneration complete and then had one line off him. His first words; "What have I done...?" Would've been perfect. Miserable sod, though I love his version of the character. Alas!
Great episode, though. I'm sure plot-wise it won't stand much under scrutiny and will end up looking like a swarm of moths have gone at it, but a lot of my favourites are like that. Loved it all the same. Simply magnificent.
That really struck me when they cut away from the Hurt regeneration. I mean, clearly that's where they would've slotted him in even if he only wanted to turn up for a bit.
I always had that glimmer of hope that it was all just a bunch of lies to make the surprise even greater but in retrospect Moffat and everyone were far too calm and respectful. It's not gonna damage his career to shoot for a day for a 5 second piece. I'm sure he has his reasons but man...Tom Baker is 80 soon and even he put in a fantastic performance.
Fucking marvellous.
Moffat saw your demands for The Eleven Doctors, and decreed that eleven was not enough. The Fourteen Doctors, motherfuckers!
Holy fuck, that, in the cinema, with the Strax and Doctors bits, and the crowd going crazy... TOO FUCKING GOOD FOR LIFE

This episode rammed it home how much of a sour bastard Eccleston was about it all. Gah.
