So they get mad partly because an emote that is "erotic" was made sitewide, then want everyone to switch to a streaming site that allows porn.

Custom chat emotes are mostly used as incentives for paying for a subscription to a certain channel, which the streamer makes some money from, so having them can be kind of a big deal in terms of monitization. Also normally this option would only be given to streamers who get fairly large numbers of viewers and followers.

I don't know Horror(Stark), but he unleashed Jericho(his exbf furry emote) where he propably shouldn't.
Mixing you position on one site with personal life aka, (and now I am creating words?) "internetification" of your now exbf is not a way to show that "you can add/do stuff as you please"- and then continuing to abuse your powers when people didn't like what you did.
Apparently folks from 0wned work on the website and if I remember correctly also had incredibly shitty service. With people straight up not getting paid.
The fact that the emote was deemed "erotic" had nothing to do with the speedrun community backlash, nor with the streamers who went to hitbox.
Again, the only reason it was a problem was because Horror made a global emote for his boyfriend, and then ip banned a streamer calling him out on it.

I'm annoyed at that emote. It looks like it's inverted colors. And it's too small for my brain to process without leaning into the screen really close. It's fucking with my head. Also, video games

This makes me sick to my stomach. I've heard that twitch is fucked up from people before but god damn this is pathetic. The sooner Youtube/Google gets their streaming together and can put Twitch out of business the better. These people have no right running a business like a bunch of man children.

I can think of any number of reasons why a furry emote would offend and disgust me or that community, and none of them involve a general aversion to adult content. Porn is one thing. A mod injecting his (frankly disgusting) fantasy into the site as a whole is something entirely different. It needs to remain in the dark corners of the internet it belongs in. Besides, that shit implies a very liberal attitude toward self-expression that apparently ends at himself, and everyone else gets fucked as suits his whim.

I don't want them out of business, I just want some competition. It seems like ever since own3d went down, twitch started to suck more because there's no real competitor out there.

You have such a myopic and incorrect perception of the situation. A speedrunner made comments calling out how a speedrunner lost his emotes while a bf of a staff member was allowed one was just as infringing. They're mad because this resulted in the speedrunner being banned.

Horror could have kept his emote.

I like Peaches_ and all but he hasn't got the draw that the so called golden boy does.
Frankly I detest AGDQ. From the people to the super biased people in charge, the shady SDA/SRL people. Being EXTREMELY Biased towards what games get picked for AGDQ and all. It's downright stupid. But the event has become as bad as the chat in that channel.
The alarming thing is that Cyghfer is one of the most placid speedrunners out there. The fact that the admins had no foresight on the impact of the bannings to Peaches (who is one of more celebrated speedrunners) & Werster (the Pokemon wiz) means that they are clueless and running a boat up shit-creek without a paddle.
It's not that Peaches doesn't have the draw, it's the crowd that enjoys watching him play bizarre games.
As for the selection process for AGDQ & SGDQ, it is freely available to see months before the event as well as the games that were not chosen and the comments as to why.
Shady SDA people, you don't say? hah...

That's exactly how it started. I mean, go read the first line of the OP's quote. A lot of people have said "Wow whatshisname got all his emotes removed but this INAPPROPRIATE FURRY GARBAGE IS ALLOWED?!"

Frankly I like so few speedrunners, if I even do watch AGDQ it'll be for KingDime. Speedrunner community are dicks I'll be honest.
This whole thing would have blown over in a few days if it weren't for the ip ban. The blame is not for the emoticon. If Horror hadn't escalated it by banning Duke, this outrage would not have been nearly as bad.
The emotes were removed because of copyright claims. This is normal. I haven't seen anybody say the copyright claim was unwarranted.
Caracarn had some of his emotes removed because of copyright claims, for example. It happens.

The fact its a fursona is only vaguely related. What started the whole thing was a joke that you have to get insider Horror's pants for an emote (the emote in question got through solely because it was his boyfriend's). And apparently Horror doesn't take too kindly to accusations of cronyism.

Reddit is kind of garbage but twitch is legitimately a great website with a lot of great steamers. I've honestly never had any problem with them until now.

My respect level for twitch was at like level 5 a few weeks ago. PS4 came out and I'm like "DAAAAMN shit is tight yo", brought it up to maybe level 12ish. Now it turns out it's run by a bunch of pre-pubescent people who are trying to drop beast-porn sitewide? WHAAAT? And then banning everyone who calls them out on it? That's no way to run a business, son. Back down to level -1,000 now.

They're not trying to put furry porn on Twitch, don't even try to bring that into this situation. The Twitch admins are being assholes, and are banning people for personal drama reasons.
