Also, I really like how these Mega Evolutions are going. I thought it was just going to be a small handful of them, but it looks like they're actually going to be common enough to just expect one.

Oh, that's right, we're actually expecting Mega Scizor. Of the original trademark list, the following remain:

Jynx
Scizor
Houndoom
Latios
Latias

Of course, Venusaur and Alakazam weren't on that list, so there could be more.

Assuming that Blue was the same age as Red, I imagine at around 7 years.(I have a hard time imagining that he'd study abroad during his high-school years.)

Mega Heracross has Skill Link. Any good STAB moves playing to its stats that would benefit from Skill Link? It worked absurdly well for Cloyster, so I'm wondering if there's potential for Heracross.

It has experience, so probably not fresh. That's pretty close to where abra evolves too, so I bet it has several EVs. (plus, Joe said he had to GTS an abra. )

Still, it will be pretty close to that. I'm (completely guessing) that it's 180 or 175, just to beat out Gengar. Could easily imagine 185-190 as well.

Hopefully it has no Sp. Attack EVs though, which would mean this thing is practically on par with Mewtwo Y in terms of power. O_O
