Disappointing. The gloss is freakin' terrible on the Vita, the system looks terrible after a few seconds of using it.
Is this going to be cheaper or more expensive than the original?
Oh, man.
This finally means people will stop saying "dat OLED" in place of actually writing something.
Worth it.
Ew those pictures are not doing it any favours. Reminds me of the step down in build quality from the PSP 1000 to the 2000. (But I still bought one, because the 1000 was shit).Man I thought it was going to be matt and not glossy!!!
You can not cannot do anything with one gig.
64. Gig card is awesome though .
Wonder if changing to LCD helps with the 1hr increased battery life?
Sorry Pioneer can't cut it. But I don't cry because Kodak went out film. Shit changes. Adapt and move on.
Just stick with the OG Vita.As a videophile who knows that black level and infinite contrast ratio is the most important aspect of picture quality, I pray that this new model doesn't come to the US. And if it does, I hope it becomes a colossal failure.
It's disgusting how Sony could replace OLED with LCD.
1GB is for save files. Pretty much the only reason I haven't bought a Vita was because I didn't want to have to buy a memory card. Now I don't.

I thought that OLED was better than LCD for battery life?
advantages of OLED vs LCD said:Unlike OLEDs, LCDs do not emit light directly, instead relying on a backlight to provide the illumination source and then modulating the light output. This has a number of disadvantages, including increased power consumption (because the backlight has to be on all the time) and decreased contrast (the difference between “black” and “white” is limited because some light still escapes from darkened pixels).
OLED displays solve these problems by eliminating the backlight. Power consumption is typically reduced to between 60 to 80 percent of that of an equivalent LCD (a major advantage in battery-powered products) and “blacks” are truly black because the pixel is switched off.

Good lord man. They finally give internal storage for saves and some games and people are still bitching.
But when the game has a patch, what are you going to do? Not patch any of your games?
some captures from A day with Playstation trailer
Liking the pink color but the glossy front makes me hesitate.
White looks good I think.
well people kinda expect a tiny bit more than 1 gig for a 'premium device'. Even the nintendo 2ds wedge gives you a 2gig sd card for free.
Are the start and select buttons bigger? If so, that would be awesome.
IPS LCD screens require less power than OLED, so maybe it's that.Yeah, that's what I thought too, since OLED screens doesn't need backlighting. But Sony said the opposite...
They have to be careful to not create the perception that it is 'the cheap version'. The changes will definitely be saving them a bunch of money, and it will enable them to drop the price when the time is right. For now, there are probably enough people prepared to buy the new model at the same price.I don't care about the oled screen but it should have been cheaper if they had to take it out. I'll take one in pink though
yea pretty sure they are bigger than the original vita.

They add something that should've been in the device to begin with and we're supposed to be enthusiastic? They've announced a couple of games, I guess that's something (and imho by far the best announcement of today), but it's not the second coming.

A little Novus polish #1 actually results in a glassy smooth surface that doesn't easily fingerprint.Glossy finish should not be on anything portable imo. I remember wiping my PSP so many times because the system just gets so smudgy. protip: Don't eat fries while playing the Vita![]()
