Definitely should get Joy2Key/Xpadder-esque thing built in.
Also, how do you think the splitscreen would work? Maybe it is able to divvy up the screen automatically between two players, and just renders the game twice? I doubt that would work though so it's probably a much more simple solution.
Dota 2 controller method could be feasible. Left stick directly steers your hero, right stick toggles between targets. Face buttons automatically assigned to spells, triggers are items. Maybe it would work out because although controller players could move more efficiently, they couldn't target as quickly as a mouse player (pretty much the same as in shooters, actually), but it would probably require separate matchmaking to be really fair, and since that never materialized in CS:GO I doubt they'd even bother implementing controller support.
