Monetizing your GPU

So I've been looking up and learning about these hosting A.I sites lately and wondering if anyone else here has dabbled in using your system and getting paid for it .
Sites like Salad,Kryptex and Vast.ai where you can be their host to run A.i container jobs .
It seems only worthwhile if you have cheap electric costs but the cravate is running that very expensive piece GPU a lot that may cause its early demise and in this day and age I treat mine like its my first born
Thoughts anyone ?

Interesting. It comes down to whether it makes financial sense. If it's like $100 per month profit it might be worth it for me. I have a 3080 I'm not using at the moment, it'd be great if I could make $$$ off it.

I bought my PC parts before the price hikes and now i can barely turn my PC on without worrying something might die. Nobody replaces your parts anymore, they just give you back the money you originally paid. Which is worthless.

That means working PC parts are irreplaceable now so it depends on what the earnings are. Will it be enough to replace something when it breaks and still have some left to make it worth your time?

$100 per month definitely doesn't worth risking your GPU or something else dying, unless you don't care about it anymore.

My 3080 is collecting dust and resale prices are around $300. So if I could get 4 months at $100, that's profit and I'll take it. But I have no idea what the actual return on those sites are.
