Splatoon Raiders |OT| Inkspector Gadget

My daughter lapped me lol. We have 2 Switch 2s and 2 copies of all the Splatoon games so we can do co-op or multiplayer together in S3 but thanks to summer break she's already beaten it and I'm only on level 20. Such a fun game and I'm really looking forward the post game stuff which sounds like it practically requires co-op.

Man I really had no idea lol

I'll definitely try the post-game, but I'm a softy when it comes to super challenging games. My job is super stressful and I wanna just chill when I get free time 🙂

Still sounds fun though. We'll see!
It's like most of the rest of the content in the main game, just that for me it was about 5-15 levels above where I was at when I finished the game. They do add some cheeky enemy combinations that make it more difficult than usual, but it's nothing that couldn't be overcome with level grinding. Problem is that the amount of EXP needed to go up from level 40-50 is (I think) more than it takes to go from 1-40, so I think it'd be a LONG grind to max level. Then finding the highest level weapons, or 5* weapons you can bump up to be actually effective. And grinding orb thingies to craft the best gadget upgrades. A lot of this looks like it could be done with replaying the levels on higher difficulty, but it looked like it'd essentially require playing every level again twice.

It's cool that it's there for people who love the grind, I guess it gives them something to keep working towards after the credits roll.

Wow! Yeah the grind can definitely be fun if you're in the right space for it, for sure.

I wonder if they'll release any content updates or expansions for this?

Is this the best implementation of online coop in a Nintendo game? It just works, I'm surprised I don't have to go through some contrived shenanigans to play with my friend. Just open the lobby, connect, play.

I'm level 45 and I haven't even finished the game yet. :messenger_fearful:

But I had to replay some missions dozen of times because they are extremely tuned in coop (which I love btw).

This will be my first Switch 2 game. I was going to hold off on getting a Switch 2 console but this game looks like a lot of fun and a good place to jump in. Also helps that I just got the Switch for $400. With the price hike coming in a month I think it's kind of a no brainer to just go ahead and buy it now and save some $$$.

Hopefully Splatoon Raiders doesn't actually suck because I basically have no other reason for the system until OoT!

I just unlocked adding an ability to the A button. Now I can use both tactical and power gear together.

I'm blown away by the customization options for your loadouts in this game.

I don't remember the last time I played a game for over 10 hours in one sitting, it is a really awesome game I am having a blast

I didn't expect the personal reviews on GAF to be this high. There are a bunch of people in this thread that I generally trust the opinions of, so I may have to reconsider getting this.

Wasn't sure I'd keep going, but I played another hour or so last night while the wife and I watched TV. Still can't do the post-game levels, but made it to level 41 at least so that's nice.

I've been helping people as that seems to push item drops and experience to your level. I have a bunch of 5 star items.

Finished the game today. The last boss fight was awesome. While the majority of the story sucked I loved the ending. I'm glad that I got this game it surpassed my expectations. Best game released on Switch 2.
Fam got it right we can't go home until we have found all treasures.

The way they have matchmaking set up in this game is absolutely brilliant for this genre.

They set it up so that you get rewarded no matter what level you are. You're incentivized to stay and get nothing when you leave or fail the mission. But the host doesn't get penalized for a failed mission and can ask for help again.

And everything loads and gets matched so quickly.

I freaking love this game lol. I can see myself playing at the end game, too jshackles jshackles and I never thought I'd feel that way.

Watching replays of the Tour de France and grinding. The end game here is an excellent "podcast game", as my kids call it.

This might be my game of the year. It's incredible.
Same! I can't put it down, man. I wasn't expecting this...like at all.

That's exactly what Phantasy Star Online was back in the day. I used to play that until like 3 in the morning, but those days are long behind me lol

Yep I think I'm done now. Beat all three post-game challenge levels with the tactical tank, then realized you've gotta beat them all with all three tanks to get the final ending. I think I'm just gonna look it up on Youtube, otherwise I've probably got another 15 or so hours of grinding to max out the other two tanks and scrounge up enough resources to properly kit out the gadget upgrades I need to beat those levels.

I'm level 47 now so there is still a bit of room to grow, but damn...

game is great, as expected

played 75% of the game as tactical tank until I unlocked the late game speed tank chips. having 2 charges of jump and spider-man makes it feel like a whole new game

getting into the post-game tonight, looking forward to it. might pop back onto s3 when the dust settles to see how many new fans show up

I played the game for 35 hours and I had no idea you could do that. Now I'm a bit pissed because it'd have been so useful in a lot of situations but this game really is mechanically amazing.

I threw this in for the first time this morning and lost three hours, and now it's all I want to do today.
I get it now!!!

This is my first Splatoon game, but I bought it based off this thread. Thanks all!!

I'm really struggling with the Sheeyz Den raid rather early in the game. The square map with a billion scrappers swarming you constantly.

The raid is level 11, and I'm level 12 with huge focus on damage. Still I'm nowhere near finishing even the first stage in this raid. Their fucking shields are ruining everything, and there's just too many of them.

Any tips from the octo-pros here?

Use gadgets that pierce through, like the axe, boomerang, balloons with the connecting points and a few others.

You also shoot the scrappers till they break down and swim around the back to shoot the weak point.

Swimming around to the back is what I do, but instantly there's 10 others that just swarm my sorry ass and kill me in seconds if they manage to trap me.

And the egg meter is usually just 2/3 full when I run out of time even though I'm constantly fighting these shielded buttholes.

Maybe I have to grind for more stuff or something, but it feels weird when I'm a level above with a maxed out weapon and still get my ass handed to me over and over again without even being close. Tried both tactical and speed tanks.

Gonna try the balloons. Haven't seen any boomerangs or axes yet that I know of.

Splatchet in power, the satellites also pierce. Unfortunately i don't remember when you unlock the ability to make new gear. You can always continue with the main missions and cime back later
Edit: i think i used tactics high fiver when i originally did it.

Damn it, GAF, I have too many games to play! I've never, ever gave Splatoon even a cursory glance!

But after reading through this thread....

I've been running tactical exclusively until just recently when I started using speed. I'll check it out!

the axe and the splatellites should help get through the shields, if not try the lasers on the tactical tank, they pierce thru the shields as well

if you're still getting overwhelmed make sure your weapon level is around the same level as your character, lots of people running around with underleveled or too-weak weapons

last thing, get a decent blaster, and you can take out the scrappers in 2 hits if you get behind them
