Im in the same boat. On the other hand ist the Vader 6 most likely not too far away, so why even bother...usually the new Apex releases first and version 6 is alreay leaking
Probably because QC issues with FlyDigi I wouldn't really get Apex 6 day one, I've learned my lesson with Apex 5 to not buy their products day one.
I mean Apex 5 had the sameish issues as Vader 5 with back paddles and I don't see any info about V2 like with Vader 5, it also had issues with Alloy bearings I believe. It seems instead releasing V2 they went ahead and just made Apex 6, lmao. And from comments it seems like it's a few steps backwards, so it seems like they are cutting features out while at it too.
Yeah....I was stoked when I realized it. Only thing is the software has to be running on the computer, but not a big deal to me.

Trigger stops are vertical. Hasn't been a problem for me.
I checked the serial number against that Amazon review and it is a higher number so pretty sure it is V2. Manufacture date is 03/26. They said 04/26 is for sure and 03/26 is 50/50.
Also, isn't the clicky thumbstick tightening mechanism have a tactile clicking feel only on V2? Mine has that as well.
NearLink is type of connection - it's listed on the first page of OT. Generally think about it as a faster and lower latency 2.4Ghz connection.
Nice to hear even if it's vertical it isn't a problem although people hands are different sizes and I tend to readjust my grip to compensate for my smaller hand size. So I would have to check that one for myself I guess either way.

But dunno, 8BitDo will have finally updated shell shape in a month and their Lavender one Ultimate 3 will have tension adjustable TMR sticks with similar ease of adjustability as Vader 5.
I play MP FPS games from time to time and I was worried their sophisticated Hall Effect sticks would break during sweat MP gameplay, I mean with Apex 4 people advised to remap L3 and R3 to back buttons instead - I saw a few FlyDigi sticks just literally snap from just pressing L3 and R3 back in the Apex 4 days - dunno if there was improvement in that regard with Apex 5 and Vader 5.
I believe they used translucent plastics in their stock modules back in the Apex 4 and Vader 4 gen, which is more brittle. And I honestly wouldn't want to babysit as an expensive controller as Apex 5/6 anyways if that hasn't improved.
Vader 5 Pro is not that expensive so I probably wouldn't be as worried about it as I would with Apex 5. But still, it would probably just linger in the back of my mind to babysit it a little - and I have a lot of other controllers I don't need to even do that.
I think I'm gonna wait a bit till 8BitDo drops their newest controllers and for more info, which sticks sticks they will use, gamepadla data (linearity especially, and latency on sticks and buttons) and if their improved ergonomics will be worth it - then I will decide since I now have more symmetrical controllers than asymmetrical ones lmao, so I wanted to buy at least another one asymmetrical controller this year.
