So... I'm watching the WNBA...

The WNBA is high flying action.

I don't understand why those black lesbians are beating up Caitlin Clark.

Isn't Caitlin like the WNBA's golden goose or something?

Like, they need her popularity if they seek to make any money.

You DON'T like Basketball?

*Gasps dramatically*

Professional basketball stopped being good after Magic, Larry, MJ, Shaq, Kobe, and those generations retired. Lebron is a joke and the league is fueled by analytics and has become a 48 minute 3-Point Shootout contest. It has been a clown league for a long time.

I don't know how the WNBA has kept the lights on as long as it has. There is absolutely nothing interesting or compelling about it. There is also obviously nothing wrong with people liking the WNBA, but I have been watching a multitude of men's and women's sports since I was 12 years old and tuning into the WNBA has never been an option when I'm looking for sports. The Bill Burr bit about the WNBA is literally spot-on.

No one is beating her up. She's not injured... She wasn't prepared for how physical they get in the league. And all that stuff happened in her rookie year. Nothing like it has happened this year.

The WNBA is an all time classic case of "we want to be rich but instead of taking care of the golden goose, we're going to stomp on it" lol. The IQ of the league from the players to the management to the coaches to the refs is all amazingly low. Clark helped get their salaries like tripled, got better flights, etc and all they want to do is stomp on her and injure her so she's out of the league. Just amazing that because she's white and straight they want to take her head off constantly, and the refs/coaches/players/management just go along with it. At one point the Fever were going to set the record for the most fouls per game for a team EVER (and they're not a rough team at all compared to most of them). So dumb.

I imagine it akin to a very large rock band, where only one member is famous and does everything to try and get everyone more money. The rest of the band members hate the famous member, and try and injure them, etc even though it means they'll be basically back to very low earnings. Bizarre.

This is what I get of the wnBA (damn, even autocorrect replaces it with NBA :p

Just a bunch of envy , untalented bitches mad that there is only one skilled woman in the whole roster...

They should show a compilation of fauls on clark before every single feminist propaganda event so people can stop taking them seriously before they even start...

Caitlin isn't the only white woman in the WNBA... And there are prettier white women than her like Paige Bueckers...

Nowadays, attendance is nearly full on just about every game I've seen so far. Props to Caitlin and her rivalry with Angel Reese in their college days and now in the league for getting butts in seats, even for other games that don't feature either one of them. Can't take that away.

I do want to bang both the pointing chick and the long dark haired chick at the same time.

Edit: I've removed some details

So I also love the WNBA now that you mention it.

Good call brother. I also watch clips of it.

You cannot tell me that would not be awesome, lol.

I'm had to look up what team Sid the Sloth from Ice Age is on and saw it was Atlanta. I'm not sure bragging about nearly full seats is the brag you think it is…

The percentage of attendees to seats for them is high but only because it's a small arena. Teams that play in full size arenas struggle to hit half capacity. That's probably why they don't share a court with the Hawks.

The only women's sport that is actually as good as the Men's version is indoor volleyball, but for different reasons. The men's game is great for the athleticism on display and the hard shots that get rocketed past people's heads. The women's game lacks this power (they do not even attempt shots from distances that the men do regularly) but as a result the rallies are longer and more dramatic. There is a lot more back and forth and getting a point feels like a war sometimes when it rarely gets past 2 or 3 switches in the men's game.

It helps that female volleyball players also have the highest average, ahem, "talent" of female athletes in my opinion.

same with gymnastics. The routines are very different but allow both genders to shine. Too bad most grown women can't keep doing it at the level of teens so there isn't a lot of longevity in the sport.

pretty much everything else women are just a slower version of the men.

I've said in real life befoer that I enjoy watching women's volleyball, and I got some odd looks. Later, it clicked that they might've thought I was making a creepy comment, like I enjoyed it just for the ogling.

But sincerely, women's volleyball is accessible, intuitive, and hypnotic: there aren't nearly as many rules to keep in mind play-to-play as something like basketball or American football. And good point about the difference between men and women's styles--I think that's a big part of its appeal to me.

I like women's tennis for the same reason: longer rallys. It just looks totally different from men's tennis, but in a good way.

I also like women's gymnastics because it has movements that men just don't or can't do.

Simone Biles is the GOAT female gymnast

See, I cannot agree on the tennis. It is almost as stark a difference as men's basketball vs women's to me. Although I do find women's tennis far more palatable compared to women's basketball. I remember seeing plenty of rallies in the men's game, particularly among the elite players. Hell, outside of being a god on clay, relentless chase and endless stamina used to be Nadal's signature (plus an elite forehand). In addition the women's game only goes a maximum of 3 sets while men's goes a minimum of 3 sets. The women's game is the same tennis just less of it at a slower speed. Federer/Nadal/Djokovic matches were far beyond anything I saw on the women's side, in contrast I was equally entertained by men's and women's volleyball at the Olympics.

A great thing they did in women's volleyball is lower the net 7.5 inches (19cm). That way their athleticism is not compromised by design choices made for men. I have seen many people suggest that lowering the rim 6 inches in women's basketball would help a lot with the play around the net and it would follow a similar idea. The problem is it would fuck up everyone's shooting stroke that they have been practicing for decades. Plus any future records would probably have an asterisk next to them.

Nope. Simone is greater.
Nah son, that little weasel gave in and quit over pressure in competition.

I couldn't imagine quitting in Iraq or Afghanistan on my men. Weak as fuck, little quiting turd. You don't get to be the greatest of anything when you quit on your team.

Dominque Dawes and Shannon Miller leading the "Magnificent Seven".

Get that weak woman out of here.

When did that happen? She got gold at the last Olympics, right?

In any case, once you get sequences named after you because your the only one who can do them, you become the GOAT.

2020 Tokyo games and don't care about moves. She quit on her team.

Other moves are named after other gymnasts also. Can't be the GOAT when you lived on your knees. Just my opinion, as we have seen.

I dunno man, she got silver in the team exercise in 2020. How is that quitting? Also 30 World Championship metals, the most in history. Simone being the GOAT is not an opinion, it's a fact.

Nah, can't be a quitter and a GOAT. Why I consider Dawes the GOAT.

All opinions though

Flopping ruined the NBA for me. When people try to argue Lebron over Jordon I just laugh. Especially when they tell me Jordan wouldn't be that great in today's league.

Allowing hand checking again, instituting "no calls" so that everything isn't either a charge or a block, and enforcing traveling rules would do wonders for the watchability of the league.

Right? Jordan would average over 30 a game easy in today's league. Lebron takes "rest days" and sits on the bench eating popcorn. Can you imagine Jordan wanting to sit on the bench? lol

A wildly different game now.

Tons of 3 pointers, load management rest days, and starters barely play 35 min games. Tons of easy FT fouls too. The old days the starters might play 40.

MJ avg about 8 free throw attempts per game his career. Some years even 10 attempts.

He'd get double the FTA alone if he played now.

Have always hated the GOAT debate in any sport but even Lebron vs MJ there are points to be taken for each side

Lebron drug a truly awful Cavs team to the Finals and went from a 50 win team to a 19 win team when he left and when MJ took his first year off from the Bulls they went from a 57 win team who won the Finals with MJ to a 55 win team losing in the semis without him

People who hate LBJ never want to admit he's a great player. He's also older than MJ was when he retired (I think?) at 41 yrs old.

I don't think anyone denies Lebron is a great player. They just recognize he isn't the greatest in the sport. All he has above most people in that conversation is longevity. There's even an argument he's not the GOAT of his own era, considering Steph Curry has the same amount of championships, with 3 of them directly over LeBron.

The Bulls were mediocre before Jordon got there and had a terrible season before he arrived. I think about like this. If you took Jordan and put him in today's league, he would thrive. If you took Lebron and put him in yesterday's league, I do not think he has the career he has had. As you alluded to, these are silly debates and it is all hypothetical, but that is why I stick with Jordan when it comes up. (well aware I brought it up :messenger_grinning_smiling:)

I think this works both ways. I believe some people take the attitude if someone picks Jordan over Lebron, then they believe Lebron is not a great player. That is not the case for me. I respect anyone who makes it to the pro level in sports and believe they are great talents. So those like Lebron that reach even greater heights are on another level. I agree though, there are people that just hate him.
