About

Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to Mortal Shell that significantly expands on the original with unrestricted, adrenaline-charged combat, deeper weapon design with extensive upgrade options, and an emphasis on free exploration.

This action RPG offers an immersive, interconnected open world, expansive yet deliberately compact, designed to unfold its twisted landscapes and hidden structures while respecting the player's time.

Their Flesh is Your Weapon

The dormant forms of forgotten warriors are scattered throughout Mortal Shell II's shattered world. Once discovered, each Shell can be awakened and possessed, unlocking their innate strengths and unique abilities.

Evolve your own style of combat by harnessing the diverse unique abilities of each Shell, and unravel their secrets through the discovery of lost memories.

Cleanse a Ravaged World

Mortal Shell II's compact open-world connects over winding footpaths guarded by the desperate and fanatical. Those who wander are rewarded with new story elements, Shells, powerful and strange weaponry, upgrades, curiosities and more.

Step through derelict temples of ancient deities, across forbidden forests and icy graves, into citadels carved from bone.

Scattered between these lost landmarks are more than 60 dungeons, each providing a formidable challenge to the talents and weaponry you have accrued on your way.

Dethrone False Gods

You are the Harbinger, a being prophesied to reclaim the blessed Undermether's stolen Ova from the daunting creatures that ruthlessly guard her unborn.

Mortal Shell II's combat system is agile yet grounded. Unrestricted by stamina, players exploit multiple tactics to shatter enemy posture and strike critically.

PlayStation 5 users can also pre-order the physical "Revered Edition," which includes the base game, SteelBook case, art book, fine art prints, and the pre-order bonus skins Obsidian and Skeletal Harbinger, all housed inside a collector's box.

I JUST got a phone notification about this game being available on the store. Not a bad spot for a release date.

This team has had a pretty cool trajectory so far. The first game was very limited in scope and quite janky - as good as one could hope for (probably) as small budget and team. Perhaps too harsh, but it felt like it was straddling the line between indie and very impressive student project. I remember finding some alpha trailers from when I think it WAS an actual student project (I think).

The DLC is what finally elevated it for me, being this very idiosyncratic little rogue-like experienced nested within a janky souls-like (got all trophies for the base game and DLC).

This one seems like an exponential improvement then, in all aspects from visuals, art direction, game design (i haven't played the demo, so just going off trailers and reactions). Like truly a step from a functional and endearing prototype, to a fully formed indie soulslike. I hope it sticks the landing and that the team are able to carve out a nice niche for themselves.

Rotting Christ and now Paradise Lost - these dudes sure know their Metal...

Anyway, this looks as big as a jump as Lords of the Fallen (the shitty, PS4 release) to Lords of the Fallen (2023) quality wise, but, i'm burned out on Souls games, plus, i'll be on vacation at that time so...

This is gonna be my Xmas game

Day 1, beta was awesome and it's one of those rare sequels that improves on the previous title in every feasible way.
