Watching the series again, it still has very good animation.

Sailor Moon revolutionized pop culture and anime.

It's a really great series. I've watched it, and I like it a lot. What have been the best moments and arcs of the series?

Do you think the Sailor Moon SuperS arc is the best one in the anime, or was it overrated?

In Mexico, it aired uncensored. However, (Fish eye) they used a female voice for the character, even though he is male.


The relationship with Haruka and Michiru remained intact, just like in the original.

I remember showing a friend from Chile what USA and Canada got as the intro to Digimon and he was like wtf is this lol. I think every other country, including Germany, got a song much more like the original Japanese one. We got this, the most late 90s thing ever

In Brazil we got most of the original tracks intact. I think they tried to make something out of it, but once the original song got exposed everybody here loved.
Digimon is one of them. They tried to push the american shit version dubbed by a brazilian after a couple of episodes, but it failed miserably because the first episodes were with the original intro/soundtrack. It made brazilians love and respect the original material.

Saint Seiya didn't officially come to Mexico either; instead, Brazil somehow licensed the game's release, allowing us to buy it in Mexico.

Back when I was watching Digimon it never even occurred to me that there was probably another intro song, so it was only years later when someone posted on a forum that the composer of the Digimon theme song died and I looked it up on youtube that I heard the original for the first time, and realized how much better it was than what we got in Canada .

Anyways, back on topic, English Sailor Moon intros were cool, but the Japanese version of the Season 1 intro was the best imo. Apparently it was similar enough to another existing song that they have to pay them royalties?

the American dub of Digimon is honestly insane. I can't believe this ever got popular with the music bastardised like this lol.

pretty much every other dub just translated the original music.

I still have the german soundtrack CD of Season 1 and 3 (Tamers), because the music was so good...

meanwhile in the US dub every single piece of music was replaced with this awful "DiGiMOn DigITAl MonStErS DigIMoNs aRE thE ChAmpIOnS" trash.
and what's even worse, when they announced the Digimon Movie, I was all hyped, only to get presented with the fucking American Frankenstein's Monster of a movie, where they just stitched together multiple short-film specials from japan, with the shitty American music as well... that was so disappointing.

like, imagine going from music like this, to that trash they gave us in that movie with the American opening plastered all across it...

you got a decent original opening in season 4 at least.



I always kinda liked that one. it was the first American season where they got rid of that other song lol.

I still prefer the german one of course, because that's what I grew up with, but still.

I think the last episode I watched in full was the one where the vampire digimon gets giant and sucks up DemiDevimon. Wtf. According to google that was... Season 1 episode 39. Wow, I thought I'd watched more than that.

I caught a bit later on and by then it looked like Gears of War, walking through a grey wasteland the entire episode lol. Which made me want to watch it even less.

I'd say the original and the Sailor Moon Stars one are good intros.




I didn't like the *Sailor Moon R* intro.

The endings i like them.

I like the funny scenes, but the melancholic endings at the end...

Digimon seasons always start light-hearted and then go real dark by the end lol.
like in Tamers (spoilers for a 24 year old show) it starts with a boy drawing his own Digimon, which magically comes to life, and they become best friends... eventually escalating to the Digimon partner of the girl in his class getting killed, who then basically has a mental breakdown and her agony and sadness attracts D-Reaper (a program that became sentient that wants to delete everything, including the real world eventually) to assimilate her and use her mental state as a testing ground, and when she shows sings of getting her hope back, D-Reaper tries to mentally break her again... and before all that she was already mentally unstable due to the death of her mother, and I'm pretty sure and one point while her friends try to rescue her she says something along the lines of wanting to just die because people around her get hurt because of her...

shit gets heavy for a kids show at times

Apparently Italians were such massive Sailor Moon fans that they got their very own Sailor Moon platformer DS game that never released anywhere else, including Japan

I loved Digimon and this intro. While Digimon was short, I think in its short run I preferred it to Pokemon.
