Good Games That Never Got a Sequel - Give Your Picks

Or is it just one of Asha's balls in my throat?
What are some games that are good, either universally or to you personally, that never got a sequel, that you would really like to see.

Let's share some examples and maybe have more people play these games.

I'll start with two of my examples:

A few more notable ones:
  • Super Mario RPG
  • Eternal Darkness
  • God Hand
  • Astral Chain
  • Bully
  • Beyond Good & Evil
  • Einhänder
  • Blast Corps
And I would have put Cuphead on that list, but now we're getting a sequel AND a spinoff!

I'm trying to think of games that ended on a cliffhanger or 'the real big boss revealed at the end' moments.

Games like that need a sequel to finish things off.

Examples…Psi-Ops is one of them. Killzone 3. Also Cole's story in Infamous 2. Gears 5 (we might not even get to see a proper ending at all if E-Day fails). A few Final Fantasy games too.

  • Super Mario RPG
Fun fact: in Japan these games are just called "Mario and Luigi RPG", which is the name of the first game in the series while we got "Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga" instead. They had largely the same team working on the game that worked on Mario RPG and was originally meant as more of a follow-up to the SNES game rather than the spin-off series it became.

Body Harvest (DMA Design - R* North). I thought it was a really immersive open world game, hampered by the technology at the time.

Can you imagine how awesome an open world alien invasion game would be with today's technology, especially if it was developed by Rockstar?

There are a few games from the N64 era that I'd love to see a sequel to. Silicon Valley is another.

It´s a spiritual successor, not a direct sequel.
The only reason it's not called Demons Souls 2 because Sony wouldn't let them release the sequel to multiple systems.

If they do make sequel it just gonna be Dark Souls or Dark Souls 4…..it kinda redundant.

Shadows of the Damned is the first that comes to my mind. I loved the juvenile humor and the attitude in that game, and the gameplay was fun. A sequel with more vertical gameplay would have been awesome.

  • Dark Cloud 2
  • Days Gone
  • Final Fantasy Tactics (Tactics Advanced isn't a sequel)
  • The Last Remnant
  • The Legend of Dragoon
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Rogue Galaxy
  • Super Mario World (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island isn't a sequel)

Still not a sequel. Dark Souls 2 and 3 are direct sequels to Dark Souls. A direct sequel to Demon´s Souls would be called Demon´s Souls 2. Not really that difficult to understand.

I personally dont see the point to it. Dark Souls made to be improved version of Demons Souls. Demons Souls 2 just gonna be Darks Souls 4 because if the do make sequel they will bring all combat improvement from Darks Souls 3 and even Eden Ring mechanics to the Demons Souls 2.

Games like Bloodborne makes sense because that game vastly different than any Demon/Dark Souls games and Sekiro is not even souls game.
