What are you guys getting into?

Got some demos to try, not really into a specific game at the moment and considering installing Linux again.

Also playing guitar more, going through an old tutorial song book while watching Criminal Minds in the evening and it's been pretty fun.

GBA games as a whole...
Nice! Me too. There's something about having fewer buttons and simpler graphics that's just really enjoyable as a palate cleanser in-between more complex PS5 games. Are you playing these away from your main monitor/TV or are you full-on experiencing them on your main set up like I am?

I've started (re)playing 13 Sentinels a couple of days ago.
First off, pretty cool that you're playing this on the Portal. Don't have one yet, but people like yourself posting images of the Portal in-action nudges me closer to getting one. Anyway I want to ask you about 13 Sentinels, since it's a big visual novel style game, what made you want to replay it? I gave it a go when it released, but since it was so drastically different in pace from Vanilla's previous games I kinda bounced off quickly, so seeing someone replaying it makes me think that maybe I gave up too quickly and should go back to it.

To answer OP:
The Gothic 1 Remake releases tomorrow, so I'll probably dig into that one.

I'm playing them on my Stream Deck.

Tokyo Xanadu Ex, I started TX on Vita years ago but never finished it. Grabbed the steam release to dive back into.

I've been obsessed with Unicorn Overlord for the past week.

Trying to get into Xenoblade Chronicles X again. I loved it when I played it back on Wii U but for the life of me I'm not getting into it on Switch 2!

I really want to play 007 but Elliot comes out this weekend and I really want to jump into that and I don't want to have to stop 007. If I could beat it by then maybe. . . I've put a lot of time into Shadows and I think I'm about done with it for now.

I've been getting back into Utawarerumono series, I had already played all the Visual Novels/Strategy RPGs which are the first 3 games and decided to leave Monochrome Mobius for later when they announced the final game which came out last week, since around february I've been replaying the series from the start and I'm currently midways through Mask of Truth (third game), hopefully I'll finish the whole series next month.

I have the Utawarerumono Trilogy on PS4 and Steam

I do hope to get to those this year

How you liking the games?

mostly old school shmups (quick pick up and play high score runs, on one continue type of stuff) , ace driver, rave racer, VF5, a couple of smaller games that i doubt anybody cares about (state of mind, signalis and blasphemous 2).

Debating when the hell im gonna start playing one of these bigger games. Would you believe ive had elden ring, RDR2, witcher and cyberpunk and others sitting on my hard drives for years and have yet to start them? Its just a time issue. I want to play them. just not enough time to commit to a playthrough at the moment. same with my final fantasy collection. I have yet to touch any of them.

but ace combat and stranger than heaven are certainly on my radar.

My mood isn't allowing me to play anything. I'll play a match of Zero build and be done for the day. Thing is I have a few games I want to finish, but again just not feeling it at the moment.

The original trilogy takes a bit to get to the good parts, they are mostly Visual Novels and they use the typical visual novel formula of being pretty chill on the first half then get super dark and depressing on the second half and the storytelling gets really good by the end. The first game (Prelude to the Fallen) is a must play for any Visual Novel/SRPG fan IMO.

I also know you like Trails games like me so you'll probably like Utawarerumono, they are the next best thing in gaming when it comes to worldbuilding + huge cast.

I do love Visual Novels so those games sound right up my alley

When it comes to the visual novel parts can I save anytime during those segments?

Also I heard Utawarerumono gives a lot of competition to Trails in regards to the world building and huge cast which is a good thing to hear.

I have the first game digitally on PS4 and I have the PS4 PHYSICAL for Mask of Truth but I can't get Mask of Deception on physical since the prices for that is crazy. I tried finding them on the PSN digital shop but they took the games off the PSN Store. I do have all three games on Steam though

And when I do get to play them I'm also playing both of those JRPGs that are prequels to Utawarerumono Trilogy

Well I guess you can always skip texts if your not getting invested in conversations, like I said, the first half in each game is pretty chill and has lots of goofy conversations, you get to know characters personalities that way but they barely add to the overall plot, the second half always starts when a war commences between nations and conversations get much more serious from that point.

Dude I'm a reader so I'm not skipping anything

I'm fine with slow pacing
