Pride Month Gaming From GOG

:

You and the rest of people on the thread are missing the point. Pride started as a political movement for civil rights, it has nothing to do with actual pride. Deals, colorful logos, rainbow capitalism and pride parades are artifacts of that movement, not the point. If any lgbt person nowadays can live normally without fearing backlash from family members or showing affection in public it's because of decades of fight for those rights, and even in the west this is far from a solved problem, I personally talked to people that weren't so lucky. You see cases of truly intolerant people all the time (and I'm not talking about not liking a rainbow flag, I'm talking about pulling up with a car in front of you to say you're an aberration, like what happened just this last week with a YouTube comedian called Brandon Rogers because he was playing a female character and the dude thought he was trans). There are active attacks coming from politicians everyday, using lgbts vs religious values as a point of division to create outrage and gain political power with a "us vs them" approach, and this is in the west, nevermind the situation in many eastern countries, where often the problem is a literal life or death situation.

Forget the american culture wars, woke vs chuds, pride parades or rainbow capitalism. Those are distractions. The problems across the globe are real and that's why I believe the pride movement is still important and will still be for the foreseeable future.
I havent missed anything. These events have nothing to do with civil rights. Nor do other things like coming out partys. All these ridiculous events do is further alienate you from the people whose minds you want to change.

No one is entitled to respect from others. No one owes you understanding. The alphabet people think they are special and should be exempt from the treatment all types of people receive for any number of reasons. Im all for everyone having access to the same rights. The problem is you people want rights that no one has ever had, nor should they. It doesnt help that the types of shit yall promote are actively harmful to society. It shouldnt be surprising that a lot of people feel a certain type of way about yall.

We believe that inclusive environments and diverse characters create a safe space to have fun and express yourself for all kinds of gamers. That is why, to celebrate Pride Month, our queer team members selected the variety of games containing LGBTQ+ themes and characters, all available on GOG.

Some good selection of games that include Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age Origins, Jade Empire, Cyberpunk 2077, Divinity, Pillars of Eternity, etc.

Some of them on sale so treat yourself to a game and have a gay ol'e time.
Poland has fallen

NeoGAF is as much of a hive mind as ResetEra, just with less moderation.
I've used a lot of different forums in my time, but the only thing that really bugs me is overactive moderation.

I fully appreciate the rationalization of why one would do it in the pursuit of curating a community, but I ultimately find a lack of diverse perspectives rather boring.

The reality is that I hold radically different perspectives than some of the posters on this thread... but at least I'm seeing opinions which are not my own. At the very least, I think that invites more opportunities for spirited discussion.

Warning: pretty disgusting public acts of overweight men half naked walking down streets. A lesbian talks about and shows the actual, genuine degeneracy in public spaces.

This is a great Video!!!

Fuck these mentally ill Trans and Gay People!!!

I really hate these People!!!

All these companies should make their PRIDE crap lore accurate. Put pictures of a bunch of old, hairy, gay dudes from a pride parade dressed in BDSM outfits, holding fake weiners and scaring off kids on the front page of their website, like we've all unfortunately had the displeasure of seeing from real pictures of those parades.

Let that be the homepage of these deviant tech companies for a while and see how fast parents react and all this propaganda goes away.

The second they change it with a real, accurate statement, it ceases to be propaganda.

Which is why we will always have propaganda, no one is going to show reality.

Ignorance is strength, war is peace etc

"A selection of games that allow you to choose your gender and/or pronouns."
Not sure why Pillars of Eternity 2 is in that list, there is no gender/pronouns choice in that game, only a classic male/female at character creation, I'm playing it right now.

In Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, all romanceable companions are "player-sexual," meaning you can pursue them regardless of your protagonist's gender. The game features prominent LGBTQ+ representation, diverse sexualities, and queer party banter woven seamlessly into its fantasy world. [1, 2, 3]

Romanceable Companions
You can form romantic attachments with several characters throughout your journey, and none of them are restricted by your character's gender: [1, 2]
  • Aloth Corfiser: Returning companion who is bisexual.
  • Maia Rua: A pragmatic ranger who is open to romances regardless of the Watcher's gender.
  • Serafen: A chaotic Cipher/Rogue who will flirt with anyone.
  • Tekehu: A Coastal Aumaua chanter who can be romanced by any gender.
  • Eder: Returning favorite who is also romanceable by all Watchers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Lore and Party Banter
Beyond direct romances, the game includes a robust variety of queer themes and relationships within its cast: [1]
  • Companions will engage in party banter exploring their past relationships, including flirtations with same-sex characters. [1]
  • Characters like Pallegina have canonical romantic histories or flirtations with women, even if they aren't directly romanceable by the player. [1]
  • The world of Eora treats various sexualities as entirely normalized within its distinct cultures rather than focusing on real-world bigotry. [1]
If you want to plan your playthrough, tell me:
  • Which companions do you plan to bring in your party?
  • Are you looking for a lighthearted romance or a more dramatic storyline?

Is Poland Gay now?
Poland game developers went woke ( adopted progressive US politics) last decade. CDPR has completely different political views today than they did during the Witcher 1 days. CDPR has adopted DEI policies, hell even adopted ESG

So yes Poland game developers are gay (1 or 2 exceptions).

I'm confused, what's the difference between ESG and DEI? Quick google search made it sound like basically the same thing, but also they try to recycle their trash :pie_thinking:

Video is from 2022 and yet, Phantom Liberty was not woke at all (it was great in fact).

I don't know what are you talking about, no other Polish developers are woke, give me examples if you think they are.

And I see nothing here about woke or DEI stuff:

Define woke because woke is simply progressive political values not "thing I don't like" as most gamers seem to brand it.

The key point of this event is that it's curated by the GOG staff. For example, there are games which are significantly better fits for the purpose of representing LGBTQ+ in games, IMO; however, if the staff didn't pick them they didn't make the list.

My guess is PoE2 does at least feature a gender selection, so it meets that criteria. The Watcher can also romance party members of both genders, Aloth, Maia, etc. Thus, depending on player choice of gender, it does technically also feature same sex romance. However, my bet is that someone on their staff just really likes PoE2, and can you really blame them for that?
