StarFox looks insane

I am playing the demo right now.... If this in a indication of how upcoming Nintendo games are going to look, damn, cant wait to see Ocarina remake gameplay.

I'm still annoyed / flabbergasted that they really didn't show anything, for what's easily their biggest hype announcement of the last couple years and is supposed to release in the next 6 months. It was their chance to really put an exclamation mark on not-E3, and they kinda blew it.

But yeah Star Fox looks sick, don't know if I'll bother with the demo since I'm day one anyways.

Nintendo quality..................the worst you are going to get is Metroid Prime 4
And even thats still a solid B

Nintendo rarely misses with their first party support.

I think its pretty obvious we're going to get a full zelda-focused direct later on. Let the hype simmer a bit and then BAM! Gameplay.

Lol, i have a PC with a 4080 installed… What are you talking about?
I was half-kidding my man. But if Switch 2 game impresses you graphically, you are kinda one of those rare happy guys on this planet that get impressed by anything small.

It's a Switch 2 game. It could be impressive for it being a Switch 2 title, considering the device is super limited in terms of power. But to says it looks insane?

Try the game and then come back.

Looks decent but the issue with Nintendo is games like this shouldn't be this expensive. This should be the price range of indie/smaller games.

Can't say I liked that video you posted. :goog_relieved:

I guess it's what happens with remakes of games you've already played: you compare them to the original and since some stuff is bound to change (the dialog being toned down or how green everything looks in that stage for the sake of graphics) there's always going to be some disappointing factors.

Game's going to be a total must play for sure specially for those that never played the original but I dunno, based on that gameplay I'm not sold at all.

It's a full fledged game. Maybe you'd be happier with games like GTA or Dark Souls being $100+?

You can't even experience all the single player levels in 2 playthroughs. Then there's the new added content, and the multiplayer.

I gave the demo a run through. I think it's a decent remake. I don't think you get the best idea of the visuals because the only missions you can play are the first two - a VR training mission and one set in space where you are mostly dodging asteroids.

I do like the quick switch from gameplay to cutscenes during the missions. The colours also pop.

I'm in two minds about it though, and it's really a me problem. I loved the game when it first released because talking animal pilots and butterflies in space were fairly acceptable at that age, but now it seems a bit dumb.

Still not a fan of the character designs or the new voices, but what annoys me far more is IGN not using bombs to take out asteroids in the warp area despite asteroids dropping bombs like candy and the game begging you to do it. Hurts my soul.

This is the boring 'my PC has bigger numbers' argument. Raw power helps, but it doesn't replace art direction or good technical execution. Plenty of technically powerful games look bland, and plenty of limited hardware games look amazing because they're well-designed.

Shit, Edit: Wrong thread. my bad.

I posted my thoughts earlier but I will add that I love the new artstyle and figure they chose it to give them practice for realistic games to come.

Are there trophies or achievements on Nintendo Switch 2? Probably the only thing that's keeping me away from getting it if its not in there since I've gotten used to the gratification of trophies/achievements thanks to PS3 gen.

What art direction ? It's a rail shooter ...... It's an N64 game with better texture/ graphics. And to be honest starfox looks like a retarded fox. Even the movie he looked much better.

But anyway like I said i was half joking.

"It's a rail shooter" isn't an argument. Rail shooters still have environments, lighting, character design, animation, effects, color, and composition. That's literally art direction. You just might not like the style. Not liking the character model is fine, but that's still an art direction criticism.

You are not too old and "maturez" to have fun.

On rail shooters usually are not very demanding because you don't go many places and are forced to a very linear line with a 2D background space. which frees up lots of system resources to other things like character models, etc.

My criticism isn't about art direction. It was about saying they look insane. Lol, no, it doesn't unless you've been living under a rock for the last 15 years.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that. I am not gonna argue with a random dude on the internet ( no offense, you ain't gonna change my mind and I won't change yours ) on what is considered insane and what is not on a technical level on a switch 2's very limited hardware.

There is so much you can push on and rely on art to hide Square wheels for example.

The only thing that looks nice to me in that game is some of the animation on the jet itself and some environments, like the space level. But it's not insane. And it doesn't hold a candle against other games on the Switch 2.

If this is insane looking. What is Ace Combat 8 ? Godly?

Or is it because it's a Nintendo game, fanboys are turning to blind monkeys ( not talking about the OP or anyone, not insulting anyone either. Just speaking in general )
