They have better facial mocap in DS than GoW too so things break less in animation, even then you can at least still selectively pick resting bitch face game screenshots of her if you've already picked one for Laufey.
He doesn't have to use the promotional poster vs some unflattering dark screenshot he hand picks from a video only for one game.
Has this guy edited his thumbnail (with AI?) and boosted wrinkles to make her look older in the game? Can't take people seriously when they rely so much on that fake outrage where they can't present factual, like for like, comparisons. They try to make up your mind with fake edits before you even start the video or discussion and then convince you of their opinions based on it.
Jaffe was defending Dragon Age Veilguard he hasn't come round to anything. in fact I would have been surprised if he said something positive about a GoW/PS game since he left. He's probably loving this reaction in comparison to DAV where he unironically called others grifters.

Decima has raster lighting, there is nothing there that SSM can't recreate (and if they can't, why they are using outdated engine and not Decima?).

If the game is made for a male audience, then making them ugly and neo-feminism safe is fucking retarded. You're just leaving a shit ton of money on the table. They don't have to go all Stellar Blade, but it shouldn't suprise anyone that people enjoy pleasant looking characters in their entertainment. So sick and tired of that "we're going to lecture you" energy the western entertainment industry has embraced.
Most gamers wouldn't spit on a great new IP just because it features an female main characters, as long as it hasn't fallen for the grift that is feminist consultants.
But the moment you admit that you don't have the chops to make an original IP and would rather hijack an existing franchise and genderswap/emasculate the protaganist ...then you shouldn't be suprised when you, deservedly, get shat on.
It's also weird that "the other side" bangs on and on about representation and identifying with the protagonist but find it sooo fucking mysterious that some of us prefer a male protaganist. Strange how that only works one way.

Just because it's raster lighting doesn't mean its the same. Decima supports subsurface scattering for one. It has a better lighting system especially for character models. Nobody said SSM can't develop/improve their own engine but that's different to making characters not match their face scans, so don't be daft.

Sure, there are people who are outliers when it comes to attraction, but there is an objective consensus about what we consider beautiful in society and we see it in action every single day. To balance it maybe a bit: Sabertooth looks also odd to me. Would have much prefered if they followed the Liev Schreiber movie version. And the hair on Wolverine is also rather odd. Not Ratchet PS3 fur shader odd, but also looks just weird, like painted on. Like those painted eyebrows some women do. Works from a mile away, but looked bad in that beginning trailer shot.

Yeah.....think the uglification criticism is legit now that I've sat on it a few days and rewatched some of the video. Still hopeful this is a great game. If I can stomach playing as Kay Vess in Outlaws then this won't be a problem either. The combat looks really good. Don't like the cube shit. But Barlog has been hinting that there is a lot more back story to come here so....we will see.

Whether we're talking a book or movie or whatever. There have been various studies done on this, which you can easily google, but people are drawn to attractiveness and repulsed by the opposite. Unfortunately, a lot of the people in media power now are either weak male cucks or jealous liberal women, which is why we can't have women who are too pretty represented in media anymore.
And this isn't really directed at you specifically, but the "if you want attractiveness just go wank to porn" take is such a projection. Like every man who sees a pretty girl on the street or on the movie screen immediately jizzes his pants.
