Diddy Kong Racing > Mario Kart.Nobody cares about kart racing games, unless the name starts with Mario.
Sonic Racing Transformed has been out for like 13 years at this point and CrossWorlds is similarly very good with much better online. I've put maybe like 15 hours into MKW and like 50+ hours into Sonic CrossWorlds. We need a mario kart quality kart racing game on PC. I hope this is good
Why? Even their 2D platformer had 3D character models, so I don't get this at all.The characters are 2d pixel art. I guess you could all it's style like a "HD-2D" SMK. Very colorful.
It's meant to be a SNES style kart racer so they are mimicing that. Why? Even their 2D platformer had 3D character models, so I don't get this at all.
Nobody likes the SNES style kart racers thoughIt's meant to be a SNES style kart racer so they are mimicing that.
Yeah I'm not a fan of SMK/MK:SC either lol. Tracks are too flat. I've only seen one track of this so I'm unsure about that aspect.Nobody likes the SNES style kart racers though
There is a reason they blew up on PSX and N64
I see. Still think it would've made more sense to make a 3D kart racer. I need to see some footage, I'm always interested in kart racers. It's meant to be a SNES style kart racer so they are mimicing that.

How do you make Kart Racing games fun in the year of our lord 2026?
A kart racer where the question isn't "Who are you playing?" but "What's your build?" is a good place to start. How do you make Kart Racing games fun in the year of our lord 2026?
We need a mario kart quality racing game on switch. MKW is garbageWe need a mario kart quality kart racing game on PC. I hope this is good
I think they also need to make it where fighting for 12th place is almost as fun as fighting for 1st.A kart racer where the question isn't "Who are you playing?" but "What's your build?" is a good place to start.

Always felt Kart Racers were bad at being entertaining for anyone outside the top 5. Though, that's probably a racing game issue on the whole.

I'm among the crowd that does not enjoy Mario Kart but loves Crash Team and Diddy Kong Racing. If Yooka Kart can recreate some of the old magic then count me in.
I feel the same way about Mario Kart. Not sure why I like one more than the otherSomeone is going to have to explain CTR to me one day. I bought the remake after all the hype around it and saying I hated it would be an understatement.

I am a Mario Kart boy since the SNES game, and I can tell you CTR on the PS1 was simply magical. It walked and stomped over MK64 all the way and back again. The single-player missions were a real challenge, and couch playing with three friends was some of the best gaming time I've ever had. MK64 has always been pretty meh, but compared to CTR, it was simply laughable.Someone is going to have to explain CTR to me one day. I tried the remake on Game Pass and I just didn't feel it. The controls felt way off. But truth be told, I haven't touched the PS1 version in decades. I'm just too used to the user-friendliness of MK8 now to appreciate anything with stiffer controls. Still, in its time, CTR ruled from a very high place.
Agree. Try something different from the others. Make it like Diddy Kong Racing (I get it- it's not different as it's mimicking the past) and I'd be very excited but just another kart racer bores me.Could be good if it has some of Diddy Kong Racing's DNA. Guess we'll see.
I'm not a huge fan of CTR myself, but it's a pretty technical game where understanding a few key mechanics elevates it.Someone is going to have to explain CTR to me one day. I bought the remake after all the hype around it and saying I hated it would be an understatement.
I had a really hard time with it too, but I never learned how to do all the advanced mechanics that the game doesn't teach you. I'd like to see it on PC, as I feel I would finally learn how to actually play it the right way.Someone is going to have to explain CTR to me one day.
