To be fair I love survival games and we have a serious lack of single player focused ones. I fell like when there is coop involved everything becomes a chore when you are solo. In Subnautica everything was tailored for you to be only one and it was part of the atmosphere. I hope this one is strictly single player too.Subnautica one was one of the few survival games I didnt gel with, it felt really padded out. More than most survival games.
But im keen to try a co-op version, I know the original has mods but a fully designed co-op from the ground up could be fun
What made you feel the OG was padded out?Subnautica one was one of the few survival games I didnt gel with, it felt really padded out. More than most survival games.

Expected way better visuals, there's too much cringe yapping and a fucking knife twirl.
I dunno man..
It's not done but, its on console because its on Xbox preview!Let me know once it's done and on console.
LOVE me some Subnautica.
Sorry I'd discounted Xbox as an irrelevance by this point with respect to classification as a legitimate "console".It's not done but, it's on console because it's on Xbox preview!
Co-op is officially featured in Sub 2.To be fair I love survival games and we have a serious lack of single player focused ones. Hopefully it's designed for single player at least. To be fair I love survival games and we have a serious lack of single player focused ones. But that is your artificially created definition. The Xbox is a console.Sorry I'd discounted Xbox as an irrelevance by this point with respect to classification as a legitimate "console".
Double PostSorry I'd discounted Xbox as an irrelevance by this point with respect to classification as a legitimate "console".
Same. I got a bad feeling about this.Expected way better visuals, there's too much cringe yapping and a fucking knife twirl.
I dunno man..
I think the visuals are fine but the yapping in that trailer is a huge turn-off.Expected way better visuals, there's too much cringe yapping and a fucking knife twirl.

After the first game they decided to go diverse black female protagonist so of course they had to prioritize her instead of the rest of the game.Yeah, I have the same concern too.
One thing I loved about the first game was that the protagonist didn't talk at all. For me that just made the game so much more immersive, I really felt like I was there. The sequel Sub Zero completely ruined that aspect of the game for me, with the main character chatting and talking and such. Subnautica 2 seems to be more like Sub Zero than Subnautica 1, and that bothers me.
Satisfactory got it right, where its just like Subnautica 1, the protagonist doesn't speak which makes the game very immersive.
You forgot to mention the QTE as you hold its jaws open and the "CLOSE CALL! +100 SubTokens" in-game achievement for mashing buttons.I think the visuals are fine but the yapping in that trailer is a huge turn-off.
Can already see what's going to happen:
>come across a dangerous creature
>"Look out! That one is a category 6 apex predator! Be very careful. Larry lost his hand to one of these"
>swim away
>"Wow that was close but I'm glad you're safe, I've uploaded the data to your PDA for future reference. Larry will want to hear about this"
This is honestly exactly what I'm looking for, lolIt looks basically like a remake of the first game. Not what I expected after all this time.
Optimistically. So 2 years before it's out of early access?
It's now in unreal 5 too isn't it? Or am I mistaking it with something else?Looking forward to it, liked the 1st one quite a bit.
Though I fear it's also gonna be a technical mess.
Pop-in and stuttering were atrocious in Subnautica, even after leaving early access.
Yeah, their wording was "at least".Optimistically.
Yeah, I read that too. It's now in unreal 5 too isn't it? Or am I mistaking it with something else?
