Crimson Desert patch 1.00.03 adjusted some gamepad and KB/M controls, increased Health restored from food and items, and added item storage at camp

They added in ps5 pro settings now not just v sync off but 120hz mode on and off.

Not sure wtf I should do now

I'm going to turn off the toggle. Leave the 120hz on in PS5 system settings and go to perf mode. If you like balanced mode, have it on.

Its weird, they don't have any text description to some of the settings so I'm not sure in which mode things are getting affected. I'm wondering if DF will have a video to analyze all this.

I say this as someone that put 100 hours or so into Starfield.. but the April update? Why not wait for 2.0?

how dare you GIF
Is there a 2.0? What they showed recently got me excited, seemed like a huge update. I specifically want to check out space travels now, sounds awesome at least on paper.
After that I'll wait for the DLSS5 update.

Game is awesome right now.
May well be the case, but I'm very slowly working my way through kcd2, which itself has had a ton of fixes and dlc drops since release and I'm sure is better for it than at launch.

One of my best gaming decisions was to have not got around to the Witcher 3 until long after its release, so got to play it with all the dlc and bells and whistles….something I regret not doing with cyberpunk (tho I did wait until the game was mostly fixed…sadly tho I played it pre expansion).

Playing big games at launch can often times in recent years feel like beta testing. They then iron out all the bugs, add all the features they wish they had in for launch but ran out of time, and then also add in expansions that wrap up and finish off the story.

Most of these silly comments come from people that havent played it. Have you noticed the pattern?
Are you assuming I haven't played it?

But what is assumed is that some of you have been saying the game controls are fine, when in fact they already had a patch ready to fix them.

Therefore, it's a fact that the game was released early without any fixes.

I dont know if you have played it or not but I have seen this pattern from other users who are not playing it, not only with this game but others too

As for the controls, I never said they were fine. There are some issues but you can get used to it after a few hours and its playable

Some fixes for the game are needed yes but as saintjules saintjules said, the game is really enjoyable already and there is no need to wait for playing it. This is not a CP 2077 situation or anything like that, the game its already polished and works well in general

I'm hearing mounts like bears, wolves etc. are not permanent and that there's a cooldown with the dragon. They need to change that asap

Damn they are fast. Lack of personal storage was a really strange decision, when they allow you to pick up soo much stuff.

Hope they dont go overboard with these changes though.

No they arent. Can you fucking read
  • Boss Fights & Combat
    • Reduced the Health and Attack of specific enemies and bosses.
    • Reduced Stamina consumption for blocking attacks.
    • Lowered the difficulty of the ambush encounters triggered while heading toward the Reed Devil boss stage.
    • Adjusted certain attack patterns for Kearush the Slayer.

  • etc

If this isn't what counts as nerfing, then I've got no questions.

IMO they are. But everyone's going to have a different opinion on that matter. Just because a developer releases a patch that addresses or alters something doesn't mean it was fundamentally broken prior.

They're decent but there's room for improvement. For instance, on PS5 the button square is used both to jump and grab an object, and it's not that rare to jump when you actually want to grab something.

Still getting a lot of DLSS noise no matter which preset I use. Only way to get rid of it is turn RR on. And that tanks performance. Even on a 4090.

You have to accept going into balanced or performance DLSS preset (4.5 ideally) for RR on. You should have >60 fps easily if I can on a 5070 Ti.

RR is 100% worth it imo. The materials and shadows are so much better.

Also do Hardware unboxed's optimization settings, you can ~12% there.

4.5 doesn't work with rr on, it default to 4.0.

The best combo of settings i found for 4k with a 4080 is rr on but you have to change to profile E that clean the image, dlss balanced and framegen on with a mix of cinematic and ultra settings, fog and shadows on high.

Profile E is the secret sauce.

Ah I didn't look if it changed DLSS in the background automatically

Storage update is huge for me. I hate having to throw away things I know I'll need later.
Guess it's time to put down RE9 and give this a shot.

Any news on the "Reel" bug with fishing on xbox, Both fishing and tree slinging aren't working atm.

(Xbox) An issue has been identified where the fishing reel-in function does not work properly when the "Invert Right Stick Y-Axis" setting is enabled in the device settings. Please note that if you disable this feature, the reel-in function will work normally.

Game was released undercooked in so many ways that critic reviews (a major promotional tool btw, I know at least of two people who dropped plans to buy day 1 because of that Metacritic score) are now rendered pointless within less than a week of launch.

What's also kind of ironic is how every patch so far has kind of taken the game closer to AAA design, which kinda shows that a lot of what people think about as charming and unique about this game was actually unintentional.

This is why big media reviews on Metacritic don't mean anything for modern games. Now nobody is going to play that "78 Metacritic" game but the score will still stay there even after all improvements.
If they wanted good reviews they should have delayed the game by a few weeks to get it polished before day 1. It's not like GTA6's shadow is peering around the corner.

A lot of the stuff in this patch should have been part of the day 1 patch at the very least, if not day 0.

Impressive and cool as hell that they've been popping these out so quick. I can't even remember the last time a dev was so nimble at patches.

Now you don't need to go to system meny to disable 120Hz. If you want unlocked framerate keep vsync off and 120Hz on, for 60Hz keep vsync on.

These ppl can't play these type of games. They just want to go in and get it done. They don't plan and prepare.

Reed Devil was annoying as fuck on my first few tries but after save reload I just prepared for 5 MINUTES in the camp that is literally next to him (making tons of food) and destroyed him.

Outside of him game was very easy before the patch...

I'm glad we have a game that's going to shine even brighter with some updates. Sad how fast these reviews get to bash on a game.

I'm just sad I've only put in 6 hours. I'd love to play nonstop. lol that's life I guess.

Doesn't matter, as with any other game it'll get more patches. But the 78 will stay. What's even the point to have that pre-release critic score average? Nobody is going play that version.

It really pisses me off when game developers patch games to make them easier or harder. I wish they would only patch bugs and add useful features but let the difficulty as it is.

Just drop the resolution. On my 4070ti i'm playing at 1080p with DLAA, Cinematic settings with Max lighting and RR. at 50fps (changed by desktop to 50hz so i give my cpu a little breather lol).

Have you played this game? Have you not seen how absolutely enormous it is and how jam packed with systems upon systems.. the game is running perfectly fine for me on the base PS5 and I'm happy to play it now instead of waiting and just let them keep patching in new stuff or amending other stuff

Yes that's what I'm playing it on. Every blue moon I have an accidental jump but once I kind of got the gist of how items need to be targeted on the ground it hasn't been much of an issue and I loot fields of dead Bandits with ease now.

I think in consideration for all of the things you can do in the game, the controls are pretty good. I also think part of this issue is we need some more buttons on these suckers.

Whoever designed the controls is brain-dead, like he doesn't even play his own game. Who puts jump and interact on the same button, and it made sense in their head.

Each button performs a different action. There isn't much you can do. This isn't just any old 3-button action game.

Wouldn't it make more sense to map interact to A? A does run.. but if you're standing still talking to an NPC or trying to pick something up, it doesn't do anything. Would make far more sense to map interact to that

Rather than having Kliff jump like a fool everytime you try to pick up each individual coin on the ground.
