He's absolutely right, the game no appeal for an audience. One of the reasons Arc blew up was the viral clips of crazy interactions with other players and Marathon has none of that. There is a reason even TheBurntPeanut only plays it when they pay him. No one wants to watch it.
I think game dies if it doesn't have enough customers, regardless of what Bungie does or wants. Destiny had poor reviews but was one of the biggest launches in gaming history, so fixing it up was a no brainer. I don't think you can apply what happen to that game with this one. Not to mention, it's not even up to Bungie, that's up to Sony, and we have no clue what their tolerance for letting this play out will be.
And while we don't have precise numbers on console, we have chart positions and it's never been good and has been dropping steadily since launch. Right now it's 27th on PS5 and much worse on Xbox.
So, like I said earlier in the thread, the Steam numbers are as favorable numbers as you are going to get for Marathon.
