I heard the prox chat is fucked rn, copefully fixed soon.im just going in as a rook now, not sure if my VC is working but im trying to communicate and no luck so far
I really don't get it. Arc had approx. one morbillion pieces of shit and junk to clog up inventory and about twice that of garbage to craft and waste fifteen minutes between runs. But people are complaining about THIS inventory UI??!!
I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Putin, press the button.
Yeah, I don't really get the UI complaints.
Is it perfect? No, but it's easy as fuck to figure out. I've played a whopping two matches and have no issues.
Huge W from them, already acknowledging the feedback and they covered all my concerns
The 3 points being used makes new 3 spawn is what happened in an earlier game for me.OK, I had enough.
I played solo for around 3-4 hours.
... I remember hearing that video game developers use tabletop games to study and learn rules and mechanics and shit like that. Like, the game designer wants the player to engage in certain ways. Even if the player thinks they're "outsmarting" the system or playing it "their way" (within the confines of the world's rules), the game has to account for that in order for the player to still have "fun".
So... I am thinking:"go to the map, grab random shit and then get the hell out, sell it and earn credits" while doing this loop, I am getting familiar with the map, items and the points of interests. At his point I don't mind just exploring, scavenging.
First issue: the sound design is subpar. In ARC is clear when someone is in the same building doing their shit. Here, is hard to pin-point the direction of the sound which also is kind of generic like muffled steps or sounds that could pass as just enviromental ones. (you cough get in PVP confrontations that feel random and put of the blue, there is no a strong build up)
The other issue I have is that the extraction points aren't persistent in the world; they appear and disappear(when used) somewhat randomly. There were several times when I just wanted to leave, but the extraction points activated on the other side of the map. So I ended up running across the map, only for them to get used just as I was about to reach the location.
So what happens?
That the "win" condition gets robed, "blue balled" out of my hands. This breaks the loop. Instead of confrontation (PvE, PvP) + extraction, the climax becomes anticlimactic. I think this is very bad, it was so bad that just made me quit.
Regarding the gravitas in the actual game... This game doesn't feel like a finish product.![]()
There's an underground red area on marshes that is very very red lolI really don't mind the UI
It seems visually overwhelming at first but if you just take 2 minutes to actually look at it, and read the text on things it all makes sense
I'm not an extraction shooter guy but played 3 matches with rando fills, got 3 extractions? Last one we got downed in the circle with 3 seconds left but still made it![]()
Hell yeah man. The shitposters have all gone to bed so now the people actually playing the game are mostly loving it.
I'm taking about the win condition of "extracting". It makes me feel the "solo" play is an afterthought, just like proxy chatThe 3 points being used makes new 3 spawn is what happened in an earlier game for me.
The loop right now is go in, do quest, extract. Along the way things can change like loot, more or less PvP, and world events for juiced loot moments.
This allows you to level factions which give you skill trees to progress, some more keen to your play style than others, as well as expand their shops and rewards, while getting more lore.
On release add in a ranked mode, and a high level raid boss to chase.
As it currently stands it has far more content than arc BUT a roadmap will show if they can feed it events like arc has.
You won't like this. It's pure extraction. There's no single player other than doing solo runsI really don't know how I feel about this. I really played like 3 games only . Or 2 and the tutorial.
I am going to play it more ti give it more chance.
I don't like extraction games. Arc is not any different .
.the gun play and the graphics are surprisingly nice on my PC maxed out. Like really not bad at all. I kinda like it and I like the smoke effects etc.
Gun play is ace. This is Bungie. They know their shit
But man the game is not fun . I don't get it. I get dropped. To loot stuff. There is a big ass chance I'll die and I lose my shit . Especially considering I am playing with random and many times this is just a disaster assuming your team can't loot your stuff. Because if they can then lol they will dump me the minute they get my stuff and leave the zone.
But in general aside from the above. What is the point of this ? Like in team death match or battle royal the objective is clear. Be the winning team etc. Here is basically you are ... What ? Just drop you in an area for 20 mins and you need to get ur ass out ? I don't see stuff like this fun at all.
If I am being honest If this is the purpose only, it would be piss me off . I don't see this fun at all.
Does this game have at least a single player or story segment I can finish if I bought the game ?
I tried it, but couldn't get it to work on one of my Linux boots.Linux support Bungie?? Did I read it right that the anti-cheat is now moved to server side? Please let this be true
I'm not trying to be dismissive but what the fuck did you expect?I really don't know how I feel about this. I really played like 3 games only . Or 2 and the tutorial.

Yeah, the loop of these are drop in, get a bunch of useless crap, try to leave. Arc is flat out boring outside of the PvP. Marathon seems better because the objectives are there (you actually need to activate them). But then the game requires you to really have a good team.I really don't know how I feel about this. I really played like 3 games only . Or 2 and the tutorial.

That's the funny part, I'm not. Just open Twitter and see for yourself. The reaction of this game is mixed at best (if we are trying to be nice)You really trying hard to gather all the negative posts.
I don't think you get it, my man.We get it you hate it, now you can move on with your life
It was a cheeky reply to this:It's okay that you don't like the game, but trying this hard is just pathetic.
Yeah, same. One of the reasons I avoided to engage with the AI enemies.

Twitter is the last place on the fucking planet I would look for genuine feedback on game, save TikTok I guessThat's the funny part, I'm not. Just open Twitter and see for yourself. The reaction of this game is mixed at best (if we are trying to be nice)

I don't hate it. But sorry, this game doesn't feel that it's coming from the so call experts in GaaS and one of the most legendary AAA devs studios in the FPS genre.
Well, I tried, "servers are not available"
.... Bungie, little indie studio first GaaS. Can't handle the load....

I'm in.. So let see
![]()
Well, now we know the hype was just astroturfed.
This game comes across indie in comparison to Arc.... And probably it was twice or even more expensive to make![]()
.... My feed went form "Marathon is so peak, aura farming, aesthetics, the music made me gawdg, haters went missing, even haters are loving the game nowi." to this.
I still can't belive how much trouble I'm having to enter the game....again... Indie (the bad indie) vibes with this one.
OK, I had enough.

I don't even think this is all of them in this thread alone. I just got bored of finding them all. That's the funny part, I'm not. Just open Twitter and see for yourself. The reaction of this game is mixed at best (if we are trying to be nice)

yea I got all mine from killing clunkers. incentivizes hunting them down I guess, and while I wasn't "swimming" in ammo it hasn't been a problem yetAI enemies drop ammo, and you can find ammo caches in buildings. You usually have to fight for them though.
I'm not trying to be dismissive but what the fuck did you expect?
You don't like extraction games but yet you downloaded and played a game that is explicitly been marketed as an extraction shooter since day 1? Yes that is exactly the point. It's an extraction shooter. You extract.
You either somehow haven't paid any attention to this game at all in the past 2 years, or you just want to complain about the game. Which one is it?
You usually have to fight for them though.
Devs are there looking at the feedbackTwitter is the last place on the fucking planet I would look for genuine feedback on game, save TikTok I guess
That's what people are sayingI don't even think this is all of them in this thread alone. I just got bored of finding them all.
But yeah, you don't hate it. Also I hope you know that social media tailors your feel based off of what you interact with so you get all then negative Marathon posts because you interact with them. Much like somebody else in here said my feed is quite varied.
Edit: You posted so many media leaks I couldn't even quote you without editing the majority of them out lol
I share the same sentiment entirely, having played a few games the menu and UI is terrible and when looting there's just too much going on or the aesthics of the menu isn't helpful. Arc does this perfectly. The gameplay is decent but there is literally no fun element to it.Marathon would've had a better chance to succeed if it had launched before Arc Raiders, which brought more attention to the extraction shooter genre and raised expectations. More ppl can point out flaws which they may not have noticed if they had no other game to compare it to.
Yeah, same. One of the reasons I avoided to engage with the AI enemies.
They didn't. The people responsible for Bungie's legacy are long gone. Can't believe these guys made halo 3, reach and the vault of glass.
What happened broARC Raiders PvP >>>>> Marathons PvP
