Are folks really buying RE9 on PC?

Haha how is this even a thread of course.

Capcom recently acknowledged and said they will be focusing on Pc First development.

It will look sharp run like a dream and be a much more polished and adult experience on pc.

On PS5 it will be great no doubt but it's super expensive will lean heavily on temporal upscaling and look like it's upscaled from 480p.

Yeah they said that years ago and then MH Wild and the last games.

That's what happens when you don't optimize your code by making the target platforms a very high end PC.

I don't have a console and don't plan to so it'll always be on PC.

And I'm 100% sure my 5070ti 9800 X3D 32GB would easily brute force a game like RE9 on max setting on 1440p no matter how unoptimized it is.

I didn't buy it on PC. Mainly because I don't like horror games. I didn't know about the drama with DRM.

I didn't notice any performance drops in RE4 Remake. Finished the game on PC again the other day with everything maxed out.

Preordered the RE9 Deluxe Edition from Kinguin, they delivered the key yesterday. Can't wait!

It will still be the best version, even with shitty DRM.

EASILY, I'm still playing the other games because of mods. These games don't even exist on consoles to me. Also, I just beat RE4 again last week with the Ultimate Trainer in first person mode. I didn't notice any performance differences. Ran like butter.

Usually I get Capcom games after they've been out for a bit because they are typically very aggressive about discounting them. But I got the game from a promotion buying a ASUS mouse for ~80€ the other day, so it ended up being basically free.

It depends on your CPU I believe so lower performing ones were hit harder. There is a lot of drama for something that might not affect the people complaining. Ignore it and enjoy the game wherever you like. If it doesn't run well return it. Job done.

Why not? Even with enigma DRM it's not hard to have R4 completely outclass the console versions, even the PS5 Pro version. RE9 on PC will have PT and DLSS 4, so if you have the hardware it will obviously be the superior version.

Hell yeah I am brother. Want to see Leon kicking in a zombies head in path tracing.

I will add, for those skeptical, MH Wilds and Dragons Dogma were both open world games. Capcom has said publicly that their engine needs more work before open world works with RE Engine. I think any RE game is safe from those issues. (Watch this be famous last words)

If somebody has a graphics card that allows better performance, it would be stupid to not buy it on PC. You can't have ultra wide support on console, among other settings, so foregoing getting it on PC, if only because of the drm, is cutting your nose off to spite your face.

if you have a good PC why would you buy it anywhere else? its cheaper even in some stores.

unless you want to play on TV and for some unknown reason, you can't connect your PC to a TV with hdmi cable lol

Me neither, I dont get the hype some here have. It looks exactly the same as the other RE games

Not about the graphics ? its a Resdient Evil game with a new mainline story and it has a great gameplay ? why not ?

After how Capcom patched RE4 with insane DRM significantly lowering performance by almost 50%, and treating paying customers as pirates, why would anyone reward them for how they treat pc gamers?

I was actually pretty excited for the game but Im def skipping it

yes, because I've got a capable PC and not thick enough to spend £60+ on a videogame when I bought it for £35 instead.

I mean, I'm probably not buying RE9 at all, but if I did it no shit it would be on PC.
Yeah this.

I still need to play 8. I'm just not that big of a RE fan and honestly, after DD2 I'd rather not give Capcom my money even for a blowjob.

Whats that great gameplay you are talking about? Gameplay wise there's like zero innovation in this one

Probably. But not for 6 months/a year. Still haven't finished village and want to get through a few more games on my backlog before buying a new game. Think I got RE4 remake for £20 9 months after release so hoping I can get this for about £25/30 at Xmas.

Even with performance hit due to some crazy shit DRM, it's probably still higher framerates than console's

The combat in RE4 RE is delightful, and the original RE4 set the standard for third-person action shooters. This one has the combat system from RE4 RE with more additions, as well as sections of exploration and stealth similar to those in VII. If that doesn't appeal to you, then this type of game simply isn't for you.

Of course I am. *Homer drool*Path-tracing, Mmmmmmmmmmm....*Homer drool*

There's no way I'm playing this anywhere else than on Steam. I don't even care if they fuck it up with Enigma in the future, I'm unlikely to play it again once I'm done.

I got the deluxe edition for 60 dollars and just finished building my new PC, so yes. I'm all for fighting the good fight against corporations OP.

But RE and SH are my all time favorite series. I have to turn out for them. Almost always quality these days

Even with 7 different drm, the game is gonna run vastly better on my pc than my pro, so the answer is still yes.

I heard around 11 hours and no Mercenaries..

Its getting great numbers but I still think im right on skipping it

Length does not equal quality. I can beat metal gear solid in 4 hours ( even less on a second play through with the bandanna ) and it's still way better than most modern long ass filler games.

Absolutely true but seeing as there are forced sections of the girl in this one Im not sure how replayable it is either

I'm not PC gamer so none this matters to me….I'm still buying RE9 day one and gonna enjoy the game sooo much.

If you have a capable PC and after the screens and videos, I would say you are crazy if you DON'T buy it on PC.

You are basically playing the PS6 version now, probably PS6 pro version.

Well im not saying buy it on console Im more saying lets wait for a Steam sale

So yeah I guess we're still rewarding Capcom for treating pc players like shit. Lmao
If delivering the best version is treating pc players like shit, imagine the console players that pay more for their version "downgraded"...

plus the VR mod soon...

I'll be getting it on PC for sure. It will obviously run better on my rig than my PS5, and I'm not forced into using a controller for a shooting game. Keyboard and mouse 100% of the time for anything that requires aiming.
